Po171 po174 restricted performance

104000 miles. Check engine light came on. The car lost power and has a hesitation when I apply the gas. Also the car shakes when I just start it until the engine gets hot. Codes PO171 and PO174. These are the O2 sensor codes but I think I have a vacuum leak problem. How can I find the leak and how can I fix it? Please help with advise.

Common fault is leaking gasket on intake manifold towards the back, do you have the following symptoms - uneven idle - sudden cut out on idle but starts up again with no problem?
If so you will find a leak on the inlet manifold. The codes show a leak after the MAF- so this is the area to check. Hope this helps.

Jaguar S Type MY 2004:
DTC fault code (EOBD Code): P0171 - Fault location = System too lean, bank 1. (Bank 1 is the right side of the car "V" cylinder block).
Probable cause: Intake / exhaust leak, air system, MAF / VAF sensor, fuel pressure / fuel pump, injector(s), heated oxygen sensor HO2S.

Instructions:
1. Check for air leaks on the intake and exhaust systems. Repair & replace bad pieces if necessary.
2. Check the air system components - harness, connections.
3. Check and replace if necessary MAF / VAF sensor. MAF = Mass Air Flow, VAF = Volume Air Flow, sensor.
4. Check the fuel pressure. Replace the fuel pump and injectors if necessary.
5. Check and replace if necessary the bank 1 heated oxygen sensor HO2S.

Lean reporting on both banks

If the O2 sensors are at 100,000 miles,
replace the front 2 closest to the engine.

If not very old, you will have to look for vacuum leaks

Check engine light on after getting gas on Code PO174 and PO171 codes

Check and clean gas cap "O" ring, and threads and mating surface in filler neck as well, and re-install cap tightly. If that doesn't take care of it, you may have a vacuum leak to the MAF (Mass Air flow) sensor, or a faulty or dirty MAF sensor, which can be sprayed with some success to clean it with electrical spray cleaner or tuner spray cleaner from electronics store.
