Fob, license plate and dash buttons all cause the solenoid to pop, but the lid won't open, its stuck shut & can't pry it up without risking some damage. The manual key turns in the key slot, but same thing, the lid won't release. I may have left a microfiber cloth overlapping on the latch receiver that got jammed in there when I closed the lid, but can't be sure. Any ideas?

I was able to get two wedges between the glass and the plastic trim. From that I used a scope to see inside and find the mechanism to release the window. Once I got the glass open, I removed the handle, and two screws from each side of the trim and removed the trim.
Once the trim was removed I had a small opening and could see the problem. The end of the latch has a small blue plastic (why plastic??) catch that broke.
Rather than taking the door apart and finding a replacement, I heated a screw driver and made a slot in the plastic. Next I used a heavy duty zip tie and connected the two pieces (plastic catch and metal part that opens the latch). I left some slack in the connection and all works great.
Not sure how long this will last, but for now I have the back opening. I will look at replacing the plastic piece, but not sure if a total new mechanism is needed.
Thanks
Stan

Fold down rear seat and climb in the trunk....there is a manual release at the center of the trunk lid. (mandated by the government to kids don't get trapped in the trunk).

you have a fuse for it ,check the fuse box ,it might not say trunk on fuse panel, you might need to pull those fuses out one by one checking each one to see if blown, if the center between the two sides are broke the fuse is blown, hope this helps you, thanks robert b.

The latch needs to be greased or it is out of align. Was it ever shut with something in it? Like a jacket? Then it could be the latch bent a little bit. It kinda works like scissor action. While lid open. Work the latch open and closed see if it works freely. And look for freshly scraped off paint on it and latch on car. It will show you where it is rubbing when it didnt used to be. Just adjust it opposite way.

Have somebody turn & hold the key in the "unlocking" position while you push the lid from the inside.
Use 2 hands evenly spaced when pushing rather than applying all the preasure in 1 spot, this will reduce the risk of damaging the plastic moulding significantly!
>>> You'd have to be extremely strong to actually cause any damage to the moulding..
(so don't be too worried about th?t)
