It can be 3 things on ur car it can be ur clutch cabel or ur push rod bearing or clutch ajustment
2000 VW don't use cables, it's hydraulic. Did you bleed the brake fluid reservoir since it shares the fluid from that single reservoir? I'm not sure if the master cylinder for the clutch is located in the bell housing or in-line. You might find answers in vwvortex.com under
Technical in transmissions. If everything bolts up properly with specs in right tolerance than I assume you have a pressure issue, if not you might have compatibility issues clamping parts. ex. Clutch disc and/or pressure plate department.

no it wont cause a misfire, misfire is caused by worn uot spark plugs and or plug wires or bad injector, but some golfs have very coming problem with the ignition module going bad causing number 1 cylinder to misfire

I don't know where your leak is happening but I suspect the transmission fluid attacks rubber and may be leaking from the heater because of softened hoses.
I think the first move I would make is to buy a Haynes or Chilton service manual and spend some time researching how the transmission and cooling systems are related.
The books are available at auto parts stores (or on line of course) and cost between $17-$30 US.

Could be loose cables and out of adjustment or the syncros in the trans about had it.
SOURCE: Hi, problem with 2007 VW Citi Golf radio security code.
The radio is in Lock-Out mode. You only get two attempts to enter the code, then it enters Lock-Out mode.
Put the key in ignition and turn on the radio for an hour (maybe a bit more). The radio should reset itself after about an hour and then you can re enter the code.
