Actually Dennis, that is not true. 2008 Volvo V50 equipped with the diesel engine is imported and sold in the USA. However, Volvo has not relaeased much of the service information for this vehicle to the aftermarket.
Mark, you will probably get the information quicker by contacting your local Volvo dealer than you will by searching for it online.....It is just not available, because Volvo has not released it.
We do not have this model in California due to very tight diesel emmisions standards, it is 49 state only I guess, my mistake, thanks

We do not have this engine in US cars.
You have to drain the fuel tank and disconnect fuel lines and blow out with compressed air. The fuel pump is in the tank take it out and spray down with WD-40. If you run the car with unlead gas it will damage the motor.

It's under the dashboard. First you must dismount the accelerator pedal (!), remove some dashboard plastic on driver side. The filter is somewhere behind the central console.
I think it should be changed every two years. Look into the manual.
The company where you take the car for oil & filter change every year must change also this filter with no additional charges. Of course they charge you for the filter, which is not very exponsive.

Other fuses, relays and the main computer are under the dashboard on the passenger side.
