Power gone and heater light flashing (2.0D)

I have a 2004 JaguarX Type 2.0D. It has just over 68,000 miles done. On 3 occasions, the power almost went down to nothing, and the diesel heater-plug light started flashing. Pressing the accelarator pedal didn't make much difference. It went along slowly,as if it were just idling. The first and second times it happened,I switched off the engine. After 30 secs or so,I started up again, and the car ran perfectly. On the last occasion, the engine cut out. It's been about 3 months since it last happened. There was a space of between a month and 2 months, between each time it happened. Has anyone else had this problem?

Sounds like your EGR valve has failed,They usually become gunged up and stick open or shut which will give you a loss of power. The valve is not the easiest thing to change but also not the hardest,The dealer will have to clear the trouble code from your car though....hope this helps

How to fix electronic throttle control on 2004 dodge ram 1500

You need the engine control system scanned to see what fault code is in memory for this problem once you have the fault code you do diagnostics to determine which part or parts are failing. I warn you don't guess all the parts (with few exceptions) in the electronic throttle control are very expensive.

In my Grand Marquis 1999 while i am driving suddenly o/d off light is flashing what is the problem, is that possible to be transmission oil ? thanks

Not the trans fluid

Oil only cools, lubes & applies pressure to
the clutch drums & bands

You change trans & power steering fluid
every 3 years or 30,000 miles on ALL Vehicles

Changing trans fluid DOES NOT FIX ANYTHING

You have to have the OD light issue diagnosed

My 2006 Chevy HHR loses power steering and flashes Power Steering across display when it gets hot. When it cools down it resets and power steering returns until it heats up again. I had a scan run on it...

Check any hoses and oil lines for damage or kinks, sometimes the inside of hoses can be damaged and act as a one way valve and restrict oil flow.

When to check brakes?

In my opinion You should check the brakes at least every year (or 100k miles), to be safe.
