How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? If temp related check the coolant temp sensor. Sometimes ford calls it a cylinder head temp sensor. I'd also use a gage and check proper fuel pressure.

SOURCE: Heater motor

Test the circuit cold. (when the motor is not working) If power and grounds are good, replace the motor. When you have the blower motor out, check for any debri that has accumulated in the case.

SOURCE: 91 explorer heater not blowing air

The blower motor is located under the hood on the passengers side next to the hood hinge on the firewall. But, check your blower motor resistor first. The resistor is usually the trouble maker. It is located next to the blower motor. It should have 2 screws holding it onto the heater housing. Also an electrical connector. I sincerely hope that this will get it working again. Best wishes to ya.

SOURCE: we think it is the diesel injection pump but not sure

Sounds like not all the glow plugs are working. It should run fairly smooth on a cold start if all of the glow plugs are working..Also you shouldn't drive off on a cold start with a diesel,Its really hard on the motors..At least give them 10 to 15 min on a cold start..The oil in them is a really thick oil and when there drove on a cold start theres no oil lubricating the internal parts and will cause the motor to seize up..You may already no this and dont mean you drive it as soon as you start it i just wanted to let you know..When you get alot of white smoke it could be two things,Theres water in the fuel which will make it not have much power die and smoke..But if it runs fine when its warm theres some bad glow plugs...Hope this helps you and have a great day

I have a 91 f250 4x4 e40D transmission. Had it rebuild, then slip it in. It shifts 1 to 2 ok. But not shifting to 3rd & fourth

Being a 91, take it back. But this really depends on who you had build it. Shade tree guy, your probably going to eat it. Garage, take it back and make them fix it.

1991 ford f250 4x4 5 litre 5-speed clutch was

Yes, under the truck find the linkage(drivers side). The bar that goes to the throwout bearing bracket will have a threaded arm, with a nut. This is the adjustment. Being a 91, you better have a torch ready to heat the nut and arm up. otherwise it will break. Could break anyway.

Trans not shifting properly

You should check your trans fluid first and make sure it is not low. Check it with the vehicle warmed up, running in park
