Oil light comes on ( has plenty of oil ) and the van dies, then after sitting for a few minutes it starts and runs fine, but the check engine light comes on for a lil while then goes off. it does this every few days at random times.
You must have a fault test run on the engine control computer (called an OBD2 fault code scan), there is likely a fault code or two stored that will help diagnose the problem.

You may need to replace the Temperature Control Sensor. Located at the engine near the thermostat housing.

The lite came on because the computer saw that there was no power to the cooling fan curcuit. That is monitored by the computer. But to be sure you should have someone read the code for you. Or you can disconnect the battery and it will clear the code. If the lite comes back on the computer is still seeing a problem and you should have it check.

my guess would be the crank sensor which is very common .
