Getting rpe message on radio after entering code

is the radio a new volvo radio or used that came from same year make and model car? make sure your ground wires are good, thats most likely the problem

We just unlocked a 98 Volvo S-70 radio,on the front,you have 2 slots across from each other,use you finger nails or a dime to get it to come out,then you can pull it out,then get the serial number and write it down,then put stereo back in,then get your vin number,it's on your insurance card,then call dealer and ask for your radio code,they will ask for vin number and radio serial code,if your radio says code,then you can enter it,ifit says off,then it's locked,you have 3 tries till it locks and it says off,if it says off,then you turn key to number 1,turn radio on,wait 2 hours,then it will say code,then enter code and radio will unlock,our code is 5513 if you want to see if it will work for you.Here's a link to you owners manual,read about the radio code,same as our's,but the dealer will give it to you free. 1994 Volvo 850 Watch this video. radio is antitheft telling don't bother to steal me.lol thats all it is just like you needed a code to get it to turn on.

Leave the ignition in the #1 position and turn the radio on until the word code appears. This could take several hours. You will have to get the correct code from a Volvo dealer.

Call the manufacturers 1800 # or call the dealer you bought the car from and give them the VIN and sometimes they want the serial # off of the radio.

in order to get the security code for your radio the serial number and VIN of the car are needed, each code is unique to each car it is installed in, it was provided to the original owner with the owners manual when the car was new, the code is stored in the vehicle information computer of Volvo and can only be accessed by the dealer or a few on line web sites, we have no access here at Fixya to these security codes for any make or model car or light truck, here is a web site that may be able to provide the unlock code for the radio for a nominal charge.

Go to the dealer and get the code. To reset the radio. You have to leave it for like 12 hours with the ignition on. At the dealer we used to hook the car to a charger and leave it with the ignition on over night.

The code might be written in you owners manual/warrenty booklet. Its usally 4 numbers. Also if you pop out the radio the code could be on the radio itself, if not call the dealer with the radio out and give them the serial #

go to your local volvo dealership, and you must have the car in your name, but ask one of the mechanics if you can have the code for your radio, they'll look it up and give it to you I believe.

You can get the code from the dealer with the VIN# and you have to pull the radio out to get the radio's serial number. If you've tried too many wrong codes the screen will show error message. If so - disconect the battery for about 60 minutes to clear error message then reconnect and enter correct code
