Heater blowing cold air

2005 nissan sentra blowing cold air. No leaks on floorboard, coolant level is ok and is clean, the air seems to have no heat at all in it. No indication of air pockets in system and no indication of engine overheating

I have the same problem with my 2005 Sentra, 1.8 engine. I replaced the thermostat and water pump. The radiator is clear, clean and functioning. Fans are operating on radiator. Heater blows cold air and tube leading to firewall are cool. Top radiator hose is hot bottom is cold when engine is at operating temp. Temperature gauge moves from normal to hot and back very quickly.

have an 05 sentra w/1.8 changed thermostat and pulled the pump tocheck for obstructions in the block every thing is clear the vehicle has less than 50,000 mi heater blows cold air moter temp goes up when you hold 2500 or so rpm also the ac pump comes on intermittantly altho the ac button is not lit or depressed. by the way the pump is in as new condition. im stumped. radiator hoses, and block are clear . like one person stated temp guage will max out so ikill the engine for a few minutes and restart both cooling fans are on but seems there is no flow thru the block . any help would be appreciated THX.

my dad has the same problem, from what i can gather there is air getting into the cooling system and it's creating a air pocket in the only place it can. The heater core. there is a small bolt on the driver side of the head which you have to blead the system through for a while. The bolt is located beside the termostat. He is the 2001 sentra but it should be the same generation as the 2005+/- couple of years.

I have the same issue with my 2005 sentra SE! I have brought to 3 different places and now it's at Nissan, where they don't trust what I am saying because I am a girl! I payed them 600 dollars yesterday and they told me it was fixed. It is clearly not! I brought it back this morning! I have my car, and I trust nissan to fix it because they are nissan and my car is a nissan! But I hate getting the run around! Calgary is cold in the winter! Help!

feel both hoses going into the heater core. Are they both hot? If so there may be no flow through the core. One hose should be hot and the other should be warm. You could also have a blend door not passing the air over the heater core. Move the temp setting and listen for the moving door. Let me know what you find.

My 05 sentra with 79k miles heat will warm up and then get cold after a mile of driving, we have tried to get the air pocket out, the mechanic stated he thought it could be a blown head gasket, another mechanic said it was a bad heater core. Any advice would be appreciated.

Check the heater control valve. if the vacuum hose connector on top is reversed, it will stay closed when engine is running, no matter where the temp lever is positioned. pull that connector, turn it 180 and plug it back in.

2003 toyota celica vvtli 190bhp heater blowing col dair only and engine over heating. no signs of leaks oil clean, coolant resivour just above min any ideas whats broken cheers

If it is blowing cold air, that means the coolant level is low, the heater core has no coolant in it. Sounds like a head gasket is leaking.

I have an 1996 Nissan Sentra GXE i live in ND and the heater only blows luke warm air while at full operating temperature. I replaced the thermostat and flushed the heater core which seemed clean....

Sounds like it's the air control flap which determines the mix of heated and fresh air. This could be vacuum controlled or manually with a cable.

Blows cold air from heater. Replaced Thermostat. Still blows cold air.

will try to help. is your radiator full of fluid? sometimes there will be an air lock, or [air in hoses] with the engine running at first started!!! take the radiator cap off, fill with 50/50 antifreeze. or if you are in alaska, seek advice from local parts store on level you need for coverage.you may have a bad bad heater core, but not likely because you would say you have fluid leaking onto passenger side floorboard.you may have purchased the car used?somewhere there is a blockage in your system.either a bad radiator, heater core,i will try to help because i've had same problem,in the FRONT OF RADIATOR]place a small peice of cardboard in the front of radiator!!ONLY COVER HALF OF THE RADIATOR] slide it down in front of the radiator on the side of the part where the radiator fan is not at. then you will have heat. if yout engine temperature rises to unsafe level, cut cardboard in half and replace!!!make sure;to put in front of the radiator only!!!this will apply heat to car while in motion!

2004 nissan sentra heater only blows hot air at 30 mph none when at idle

check your coolant level, it's probably low. if so find the leak to prevent serious engine damage. if coolant level is ok, suspect a thermostat that is stuck in the open position. good luck.

No heat

My 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8s with 55,000 mi. blows cold air from the heater. Coolant not circulating in engine. Lower hose stays cool to touch. Both heater hoses cold. Changed thermostat - didn't fix it. Coolant not leaking or dirty. None in oil - no oil in radiator. Changed worn water pump belt - pump spins freely with no noise or resistance. Cooling fans come on after warm-up. Temperature gauge stays in normal range then jumps to hot and back again. Coolant good to 10 below - didn't freeze here yet. No other problems or repairs to car. Afraid to drive and make worse. Help!
