I have a 2003 S-Type Jag and I'm experiencing a peculiar problem, to say the least. When I start the car the message on the Navigation screen reads "Ignition off, no A/C available". The car starts but somehow the computer thinks that the car is still off, so nothing else works (ie: fuel readout, a/c, etc...) and most importantly, the parking brake won't disengage so I can't move the car at all. Have you ever come across this problem before? Please HELP!!

Hi six just something to check, the fuse box in the boot is the thick battery  cable tight, and same with the box in the car  and under the bonnet or hood    D

Is parking brake an electrical one or a manual one ,as different models in states to europe .if it is electric operated then call out required and tow truck ,if its manual operated it can be released ,well havent seen one or worked on one yet but evan if its electric operated iam thinking it must be possible to disengage it manually with a screwdriver in the rachet mechanism.The last time i had a car do this it was a re-programme of the ECU which is dealer only .Before you call garage try taking battery leads off and touching them together for 30 secs ,batterys in the boot /trunk right hand side
