Under your hood there is a abs pump, it make the pressure for the abs to work and when the system is faulty they vibrate and make a long steady noise when you first turn your car on, sometimes they even vibrate, stop then vibrate again a few seconds later. while this is annoying and semi embarasing u can use your brakes w/out abs. or you can replace the unit for 600bucks plus labor at the shop. its a easy fix if u wanna do it yourself. it takes 1.hr in labor plus you can find the part at the junkyard for 250. i hope i was helpful.

cl 3.0l 1997 i have the abs on , but before the the light turn on there is a strange noise like inside the car for like 10 seconds...all this hapens at every initial crank?
ABS light comes on and buzzing sound from under hood at abs controller intermitant problem, operators manual says this will not affect auto's function, however, what is the problem?
