Obd1.5 check engine light on ,checked obd1 connector to run jumper from grd A to powr B . theres no B pin. obd1 block only has 3 pins. this is a 95 buick regal 3.8l , OBD1 or OBD1.5 . engine sputters and coughs. the check engin light comes on then the engine runs fine. ? changed tps and no change in operation.

Change your plugs. Cheap gas is not good for a gas engine. I changed my 3 coils acdelco $35 each at carif.co. or rockauto.com then I changed the ignition control module under the coils.started my car and I can hear a perfect humm. Got back alot of power, pickup, and milage improvement big time.

I had the exact same problem. The mechanic found a spark plug that was leaking on the back of the engine that was a pin to get to.

He replaced all plugs and wires and I no longer have this problem, so you may be onto something with the plug wire being loose.

Try putting somw SEAFOAM into your tank. It either your O2-sensor, or EGR-valve. Alot of the time, SEAFOAM will clean these sensor up????

SOURCE: 1990 Buick Century 3.3L Check Engine Light comes on, stalls.

Need to check for fault codes. Possibly a faulty sensor causing the fuel system to run rich or lean.

Can a diagnostic connector on 1995 Toyota 4 runner be jumped over with jumper wire to get check engine codes?

There is probably a way to access codes by using a jumper and causing the engine checklight or an integral led to flash in groups. I can't say which pin or pins need jumping.

Where is the diagnostic port located on an isuzu trooper 1995 V6 model

You can get the check engine light codes yourself on 1985-94 Isuzu vehicles by using a jumper wire between terminal pins 1 and 3 or A and B in the diagnostic connector. This diagnostic connector can be located anywhere from the driver side kick panel, passenger kick panel and sometimes at the center console. When using A and B terminal pins, getting the codes is similar to GM vehicles. Once the jumper wire is connected, turn your key on and read the codes being flashed in the dash panel.

7 pin connector trailer back up light no voltage

Pull one of your tailights on truck, and find wire to back-up on it, then run jumper down to 7 pin plug. Might save a lot of trouble/time.

Where is the obd connector on a 1991 mitsubishi 3000gt

The Data link connector is located on the side of the fuse block which sits above your left foot as you are sitting in the car, the fuse block has a black plastic cover, and the connector on the side and has a soft rubber boot.

My 1990 Toyota pickup 4x4 3.0 5spd failed its smog test in Ca. The shop said that the timing was set at 5 degrees after. How do I set the timing to the correct setting?

there is a small black check connector next to the big black fuse block that has coded pins that you can jump to check different systems.but to check the timing you will need a jumper wire and jump pins te1 and e1 together. the location for the pins that you need to jump are located on the inside of the lid of the small check connector.start the truck and let it warm up and set the idle to around 800rpm and hook your timing light up to the battery and the #1 plug wire and put your jumper wire in. the engine speed should slow down a little and you should also be able to see the timing mark move with the timing light when you connect and disconnect the jumper wire.once you have everything hooked up loosen the dist. bolt and set the time to 10 degrees btdc at idle.tighten the dist. and unhook everything and and see how it runs.if not running to good the timing belt could be stretched or it could have jumped a tooth.the throttle position sensor can also make the timing to crazy things.....i hope this will help you let me and fixya know and a thumbs up if i did my job........if you have anymore questions let me know i have been working on toyota and lexus for 25 yrs......good luck.......

The D4 light is coming on to tell you that there is one or more fault codes set in your transmission control module. The only way to retrieve codes on the 1995 models is to read "Flash Codes" output by the D4 light. (See instructions below)

RETRIEVING FLASH CODES USING THE D4 LIGHT
If fault codes are present, the D4 light will "blink" when the ignition is turned to the RUN position and will remain on at all times when the engine is running.
To retrieve the flash codes, turn the ignition switch off.
Install a jumper wire between the service check connector terminals.
The service check connector is a gray, 2-pin connector located on the PCM/TCM cover under the passenger side of the instrument panel. (See picture below)

CAUTION: DO NOT use the 3-pin located next to the service check connector.

Installing the jumper will place the PCM/TCM in diagnostic test mode.
Turn the ignition to the RUN position. Codes will be output by blinking the D4 light.
Note the number of blinks from the D4 light. A short blink indicates a single digit flash code. A long blink equals 10 short blinks. For instance one short blink indicates code 1. One long blink and four short blinks indicates code 14. If there is more than one fault code, they will be output one at a time from the lowest numbered code to the highest numbered code. It is recommended that you read the code or codes several times to make sure that you are reading it correctly.

Once you have retrieved the fault code(s) re-post your question and include the information for what codes you have and someone can then help you locate the cause of the problem.

What is the diagnostic code?

96 and newer is the OBD-2 scanner to use, for 95 and older gm vehicles go to this site for the codes--- www.gmtuners.com/0BD1_DTC.htm----- heres how to read codes on 95 and older, The ALDL connector is on the driver side of the car by the steering column. Short the A and B pins together, which is the two pins in the upper right hand section of the plug. Make sure the key is on, but the engine is off. That will make the check engine light flash whatever codes are stored in the computer. You can use a paper clip to short the pins together. Hope this helps. to read codes, 3 flashes of check engine light, then pause then 2 more flashes indicates problem code 32. thats how you read the codes. so have something to write them down so you can keep track of the codes.

Hi. 91 bronco no stoplites or hazards.powr out of fuse box no powr at sockets. tail lites wurk fine. i tried 2 run makshift grd but no lck.directnls r fin and hazards wurk in front, its like both rh and lh...

heck power on both sides of brake light switch with pedal depressed.if power on 1 side only replace brake light switch.if no power to brake light switch check turn signal switch.

OBD 1.5 OBD 1.5 refers to a partial implementation of OBD-II which General Motors used on some vehicles in 1994 and 1995 (GM did not use the term OBD 1.5 in the documentation for these vehicles - they simply have an OBD and an OBD-II section in the service manual.)
For example, the 94-95 Corvettes have one post-catalyst oxygen sensor (although they have two catalytic converters), and have a subset of the OBD-II codes implemented. For a 1994 Corvette the implemented OBD-II codes are P0116-P0118, P0131-P0135, P0151-P0155, P0158, P0160-P0161, P0171-P0175, P0420, P1114-P1115, P1133, P1153 and P1158.[1]
This hybrid system was present on the GM H-body cars in 94-95, W-body cars (Buick Regal, Chevrolet Lumina ('95 only), Chevrolet Monte Carlo ('95 only), Pontiac Grand Prix, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme) in 94-95, L-body (Chevrolet Beretta/Corsica) in 94-95, Y-body (Chevrolet Corvette) in 94-95, on the F-body (Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird) in 95 and on the J-Body (Chevrolet Cavalier and Pontiac Sunfire) and N-Body (Buick Skylark, Oldsmobile Achieva, Pontiac Grand Am) in 95.
Depending on the year and the vehicle, a car with the OBD 1.5 system may have either the older OBD-I connector, or the newer OBD-II connector, but they are electrically identical to each other.[citation needed]
The pinout for the ALDL connection on these cars is as follows:

An OBD1.5 has also been used on Mitsubishi cars of '95 '97 vintage.
An OBD1.5 has been used in some 1995 Volkswagen VR6's (Juice Box's GTI)
