Have your charging system tested. The battery light is turned on when there is a charging system problem causing an over/under charge condition. You may possibly have an alternator problem. If the battery is not being charged properly, the computer will start shutting down electrical components for protection and to keep enough voltage supply to enable the vehicle to continue running
You can, but the battery will go dead again. The alternator is what keeps the battery charged and with out it charging there is nothing to keep a charge in the battery. The car uses power to run, not just to start, plus brake lights, turn signals, and radio, A/C all use power.
Have battery/alternator checked. Really clean connectors and battery posts even if they look ok. If battery is ok have it slowly recharged for 12-24 hrs. Alternators are not designed to recharged an empty battery but just to maintain the full charge. I large amp and sound system demands a big battery and heavy duty alternator.
The first thing to check is the battery, if the battery is dead try jump starting it with another car or use another battery, if it then starts you should have the alternator tested, most autoparts stores do this at no charge, it may be that the alternator is not keeping the battery charged.
Hi
It sounds like you need a new battery, the battery may work the radio but wont have enough power to keep the car going,
Alternatively the altenator may not be charging the battery so that could be the fault.
Lastly check the battery connection from the battery to the car body and the wire leading to the altenator and ensure they all have good tight contact.
A loose earth/ground wire can cause this

the radio is pulling down the battery, check to make sure it is install properlt, also make sure your battery is not weak, because remember the radio draws power at all time, to keep the time and your preset radio station. so check the battery for proper strenght first please.
keep in mind, your engine use both source of power to run, one from the battery and one form alternator. If the alternator is good, your engine should stay running regardless if the battery is good or bad, the alternator should keep the engine running. It sound like to me the alternator is faulty not charging your battery or keeping your engine running, even though the alternator is brand new does not mean is good. My guess I would take the alternator back and get another one. the reason why your car ran for 25 min and die it has no source of power to keep the sparks going although the alternator should keep the engine running and at the same time charging the battery but is not.
Always clean the battery terminals before jumping. An extremely dead battery may not accept a jump as it serves as a 'buffer" instead of helping. If you do get it started, charge battery with a battery charger then have alternator and battery tested for proper operation and check belt condition and tension as well.
