I f it is like the XJR, the cig lighter is electrically switched and will not work. Find the hot point and and ground in the passenger side heelboard. The ground is two wires together scewed to the body an the hot point was a bolt attacted to a large wire and covered with a black rubber boot.

Thank God they put an emergency jumping for the trunk. Hook up jumper or cables to it. It's located right fender side, right in front of fuses black rubber cap on it. Jump hit button and wala!! Trunk open.

Just had battery failure on my 95 Jaguar. opened trunk with KEY & replaced with new Batttery.

Jump the battery and get your power back or get a starter pack that plugs into your cig lighter or your accessory power outlet.Good Luck!

Have a1995 Vanderbilt Plas with dead battery and cant get in trunk...help!!!

Get another battery and make an adaptor cable with clamps for the battery plots at one end and a lighter jack (like the ones for phone car chargers) at the other. Now connect the cable accordingly (the minus plot on the battery to the side contact on the jack) and plug it in the lighter socket - now you will have enough power to open the trunk. Don't try to start the motor this way, it will fry the entire wiring harness.

Hello, I have a 2005 JAG 4 door, and the trunk is jammed and won't open. I tried to rock it up an down, but its still jammed, how do I get it to open?

Is the latch mechanism stuck? of had the vehicle been in an accident and the trunk lid is damaged? If it is just the latch, try removing the rear seat and access the inside of the trunk that way. Then you can manually try to open the latch.

My trunk latch is jammed on my 1995 Jaguar XJ6, not an electrical problem. How can I get it to open?

Have you tried using the actual key? If not, try inserting the key in the trunk hole while holding it to the open position, rock the trunk up and down. You may have a strap or something caught in the latch.

1995 xj6 battery dead can't open trunk

Fairly easy way is to remove kick panel on passenger side rear seat.(one screw) There is a battery positive feed to the fuse panel there. Heavy guage red wire with a rubber cap covering the post. There is also a common body ground post in there.(double black wires) Just hook jumper cables up and go.
