How easy is it to remove lower rad hose? I've reverted to that more than once rather than fight with some of those drain plugs & their neat locations.

SOURCE: How to replace sparl plugs on a Jeep Cherokee?

Hello, I hope this info helps...(subytech1)...REMOVAL
In this engine, each individual spark plug is located under each ignition coil.

  1. Prior to removing spark plug, spray compressed air around base ofignition coil at cylinder head. This will help prevent foreign materialfrom entering combustion chamber.
  2. On this engine each individual ignition coil must be removedto gain access to each spark plug. Refer to Ignition CoilRemoval/Installation.
  3. Check condition of coil O-ring and replace as necessary.
  1. Inspect spark plug condition. Refer to Spark Plug Conditions.
CLEANING
Theplugs may be cleaned using commercially available spark plug cleaningequipment. After cleaning, file center electrode flat with a smallpoint file or jewelers file before adjusting gap.

CAUTION: Never use a motorized wire wheel brush to clean sparkplugs. Metallic deposits will remain on spark plug insulator and willcause plug misfire.

ADJUSTMENT

Setting Spark Plug Gap - Typical
Check spark plug gap with a gap gauge tool. If the gap is not correct, adjust it by bending ground electrode. Never attempt to adjust gap bybending center electrode.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: This engine is equipped with copper core groundelectrode spark plugs. They must be replaced with the same type/numberspark plug as the original. If another spark plug is substituted,pre-ignition will result.

Special care should be taken when installing spark plugs into cylinderhead spark plug wells. Be sure plugs do not drop into plug wells asground straps may be bent resulting in a change in plug gap, orelectrodes can be damaged.

Always tighten spark plugs to specified torque. Over tightening cancause distortion resulting in a change in spark plug gap or a crackedporcelain insulator.

  1. Start spark plug into cylinder head by hand to avoid cross threading.
  2. Tighten spark plugs to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) torque.
  3. Before installing coil(s), check condition of coil O-ring andreplace as necessary. To aid in coil installation, apply silicone tocoil O-ring.
  4. Install ignition coil(s). Refer to Ignition Coil Removal/Installation.

THE RADIATOR DRAIN TAP "PETCOCK" FOR THE 94 JEEP CHEROKEE IS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RADIATOR - THOUGH TO BE BRUTALLY HONEST YOU WOULD BE BETTER JUST REMOVING THE BOTTOM HOSE TO DRAIN THE RADIATOR AS THE TAP/PETCOCK HAS A TENDENCY TO SNAP IN THESE OLDER MODEL JEEPS - IT DID WITH MY 96 JGC & IT COST ME A NEW RADIATOR TO THEN "FIX" THE PROBLEM.

I have a 1995 Jeep cherokee country..I need to know how to drain water out of the radiator so I can put in antifreeze.

on the bottem of the Radiator there is a drain plug (screw) it will drain the whole radiator so you will need to refill it again. it is best to drain the whole thing because if yoo don't the water could crack your radiator.

1999 Jeep GC is leaking at the plug. Is this a common problem?

If you have a radiator repair shop near by, have them fix it for you.you take it out and they fix it.Or replace it.Now if you are really good and want to save money you can try to epoxy it with a high temp resin repair kit.cleaning is the most important part to make this work.

The radiator drain plug is on the bottom right or left of the radiator facing the engine. On my PT Cruiser, it is on the driver's side.

I need to drain my radiator on a 2002 jeep grand cherokee

On many of these, the drain is on the right front of the radiator, sometimes requiring removal of a small panel in the grille or the entire grille. The ones I've serviced, after geting to the drain I've found that it dosen't turn. It is far easier to ignore the drain altogether and remove the lower hose at the radiator. Don't do this on a hot engine unless you like hot antifreeze baths! (I don't)
Good luck
