I have a 2000 Park Ave Ultra and the same thing happened to me last week. I had about 1/8 tank of fuel, turned into a shop center, hit a bump, low fuel indicator beeped, and car died. It started up again so I went and filled up with fuel. It then died a few more times on my way home but always restarted after I stopped. I don't have a scanner so haven't checked for error codes yet.

My 2000 Buick Regal has died multiple times in the last week as I was driving. The engine quits in as little as five minutes, but might take longer, and always happens as I am decelerating (foot off the accelerator, applying brake). Cranking causes the engine to fire, but not enough to keep running. It might take up to twenty tries to get it running again, and black smoke pours out of the exhaust.

En route to my mechanic, driving slowly and gently, the car would not stall. The mechanic road tested the car, and he made it stall.

Initially, error codes P0300, P0463, P1096, P0103 and P0128 were read, but they were too disassociated to be of any use. The older battery was replaced and the cables serviced to ensure good positive and ground connections. The ECM was reprogrammed (cost: $100!), and the Regal ran well for a day. Shortly thereafter, it began dying as before, and was returned to the shop.

Mechanic Bob kept the Regal in his shop for four days, engine idling with test equipment attached. When it died, it started up immediately, and no error codes are present. He is at a loss.

He replaced the crankshaft sensor (at my urging), and it looked like the problem was solved. Not so! It only took a few miles for the problem to happen again.

The odometer light has not worked for several weeks, but I doubt if this is connected.

Anyone have any idea as to what might cause this?

Possible solution to stalling '99 Buick. My '99 Buick Century would die for no apparant reason with no error codes. After 4 days at a Buick dealership and many frustrated mechanics, the problem was corrosion from under the battery location. The wiring harness had small amounts of corrosion internally. Check the wiring under the battery for any corrosion. This has been the problem on more than 1 vehicle that we are aware of. No service bulletin has been issued by Buick.

1988 buick regal stalls and restarts stalls and restarts

Sounds like a relay or coil failing.
To proceed you would need to find out if you are loosing spark to the plugs or fuel pressure to the injectors when it won't start.

I have a 99 Buick regal that stalls while driving or just sitting still replaced mass air flow sensor an that didn't fix it and no garage can figure out why its doing it can you please help. to describe it...

Replace the fuel filter. If that doesnt do it which it probably will, make sure the fuel pressure is consistent, as it could be a faulty fuel pressure sensor.

1995 Buick LeSabre - Stalls then restarts while driving

Has the fuel filter been chg. lately. If it has, maybe a fuel pressure test is in order. Fuel pump might be geeting weak and does not show up until it gets warmed up. Fuel pumps are a common problem on this type of cars.

Low idle

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle rough idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve (IAC for short), they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

2002 Regal - Engine kills right after starting cold.

There are 3 things that cause this, 1st and most common is a dirty idle speed control valve, 2nd is carbon on the back of the intake valves, last but not least is the wrong octane of fuel, if it requires 89 Octane and 91 or 92 is used the engine will stall code.

To clean the dirty idle control valve follow this procedure:
