The transmission wont shift out of 2nd gear again.

It did it once before, they fixed it,they said it was aloose wire.the check engine light is still on.speedometer is not working.i have replaced the rear & transmission speed sensors, but not the front wheel one.i was told because the speedometer does not work it is probally because the sensor is not sensing the speed of the truck, therefore it wont allow the transmission to shift out of 2nd gear. if i replace the front speed sensor(s) the speedometer should work, and the transmission should start shifting again.does this sound right, please i need help.i am now told there are more than 1 speed sensor on the inside of the front wheels and they are more expensive than the others.any help i would appreciate it.

I can answer part of your question. the front wheel speed sensors are for abs and trac control only. these will not affect the speedo your problem is some where else. sorry i have not had this prob yet good luck. you could have to replace the rear wheel speed sensor again. they are not that good. and after market are even worse.

Transmission wont shift out of low

I may be out of order here, but I fixed transmission shift issues on my Malibu by 'Reset All' with the computer analyzer at O'Reilly's.

Speedometer quit working. Now why won't the transmission shift out of first gear?

I think you'll find that it's in second gear, not first; this is part of that transmission's "limp home" feature, which takes over when the computer detects a sensor malfunction. Until that sensor (in your case the speed sensor) is fixed, the computer will refuse to let your car shift into any forward gear except 2nd.

The O/D OFF light was flashing, fixed that but now lost all gears except 1st gear?

It sounds like you may have faulty shift solenoids. (internal transmission)

I have a 2004 concorde 2.7 liters , i just washed the car , suddenly check engine light appears out , the car shifts fine within the early few minutes but later it wont shift to 3rd it stay on 2nd gear,...

Could be water that touched one of your electronics that makes your transmission having problems try to dry the Transmission electronic connectors with low air pressure and see whats happens.Good luck

Transmission will not shift into high gear

Before guessing at transmission problems, check the fluid level (car warmed up, engine running in Park on level ground) and have the PCM scanned for trouble codes FIRST. This guide is meant for problems that do not show up as PCM codes (like shift A&B solenoid failures, for example).
Also note that many problems that show up as transmission issues are actually PCM or electrical, and may be external to the transmission. Try a different PCM, and check for chafing where the cables come out of the PCM.
What is "limp-home mode" ? This is a fault mode in which the transmission either loses electrical power or the PCM deactivates all of the electronics. The transmission will default to max line pressure. The driver will have Reverse and 3rd, with manual 2nd available by putting the gearshift in 2 or 1 (doesn't matter). 1st, 4th, and TCC lockup will not be available. It will not hurt the car to drive it like this for short periods, but use manual 2nd to get the car moving, and be aware that the trans will generate more heat than normal while operating in limp-home mode due to increased torque converter slippage during 2nd gear starts and no lockup in 3rd gear.
No 1st or 4th available; trans shifts 2nd to 3rd by itself in D or OD and locks the converter : ShiftA solenoid failed. Easy fix in the pan. Or a wiring problem from PCM to trans.. or PCM.
Trans shifts into gear harshly, car feels sluggish off the line, No 1st, 4th or TCC lockup available, Manual 2nd, 3rd and Reverse are only available gears, CEL is on: Transmision is either in limp-home mode or has lost electrical power. If there are lots of error codes in the PCM, check the underhood fuse that powers the transmission, and if it pops again, look for a short in that circuit like an O2 sensor harness touching exhaust. Otherwise, check PCM codes for a particular fault in the transmission causing the PCM to put it in limp-home mode.
Thank you for using fixya and good luck. Check all your fuses first to ensure it's not a simple as that before you take it to a transmission shop. Call around, most transmission shop will scan free of charge to inspect the condition of your transmission.

1998 chevy k1500 4x4 4 speed auto.transmission wont shift out of 2nd gear. shifts fine from 1st to 2nd first and reverse is fine wont shift out of first, shift servos have been replaced.

Had a similar problem with same model pickup but would shift into third only after reaching high RPM in second @5000. There was TSB that came out about this a few years ago. I had to replace the valve body in the transmission to fix the problem and worked perfectly after that. Hope this helps!

98 dodge avenger transmission problem

codes will verify if it needs to be pulled out. More than likely it will as the electronics are rarely the problem. The computer senses a indifference in the ratio between the sensors so it locks it in limp mode - 2nd gear.

2003 nissan altima 2.5s transmission rough shift

Probably sensors! I have already replaced the crankshaft positioning sensor once, nissan replaced it once under recall and now it is bad again! Plus my speed sensor is bad too! Go to any part store and get diagnostic test ran, it will tell what sensors are bad.
