Lexus RX Hi- You wrote back in June you were having trouble with your 2003 model.  I have a 2001 RX300 and had great luck with if for the first 96,000 miles.  Anyway, I just took it in to the dealership for an oil change/tire rotation.  Had no problems with it until I drove it off the lot and the check engine/VSC lights came on.  I took it back, they checked it out and determined it needed a new air filter meter.  $350 later, I drove it for 16 miles and the check engine/VSC lights come on again!  I can't take it back until Monday but am concerned the dealership is not altogether honest.  This is the second time I took my healthy car in there for regular maintenance and it ends up costing me.  Last time I had to invest in a new transmission when I had had no problems until AFTER the 90,000 check up.  What have your experiences been?  I love my car but my next one will not be a Lexus. Hi kelly4578, Your Air/Fuel Ratio sensor is failing. It is also called the Bank One sensor. The sensor itself is about $200 from a parts distributor and somewhat more than that at a Lexus parts department. Labor to remove the old sensor and replace it with the new one will also run you several hundred dollars.

If you're mechanically inclined, you can tackle this repair yourself. But you must first determine the exact location of the failed sensor. And be careful not to strip the threads in the manifold when you remove the old sensor.

SOURCE: The yellow check oil light came on over a year ago

Could be as simple as an oil pressure switch or low pressure through the oil pump. Both of these are possible whithout you seeing a change in the oil level itself. More likely problem would be the oil pressure switch as you'ld probably hear tapping noises in the engine compartment if you had a low oil pressure issue. Best of luck.

go onto your sat nav screen and select maintenance,you reset it there

VSC means Vehicle Stability Control.

It comes on when the sensor send a signal that the vehicle is not stable on the ground.....check the wheel balancing and alignment and the air pressure of your tires too.
