most dome lights are controlled or actuated by a ground supply switch rather than a power supply switch therefore the problem can be in the switch at the door jamb or the latch mechanism inside the door or perhaps a bare wire in between the light and the door contacting ground.
is the switch in the door bad?leave the key in the ign does the key chime go off before you open the door i think that model the switch is built into the lock assembly
the door adjar switch is the problem. the cargo light stays on until 35mph, as well as the overhead dome light. i just took the bulb out of the dome light and dont worry about the cargo light. it stays on for 30 min after the truck is turned off if the switch didnt trip properly. it shouldnt cause any problems as long as your batteries are good. i havent replaced the switch yet but it should be on the part of the door by the latch. get the replacement part and do a visual I.D. when you get the panel off. then replace it. the sensor is only 14$
do you have a factory alarm does it set and after you set it can you still open the door with out the alarm going off. roll window down and try that if that is the case door latch could be bad or wires going to door latch bad.
Check the door switches for the interior lights and tighten the screws holding these on to make a good earth contact.Knock the door locks lightly with a hammer to get the insides loosened up and lube these with a penetrating spray.
