I found a chrysler blog. Pull back carpet on passenger foot well, remove white styrofoam computer protector. Remove cardboard cover (remove two screws) from bottom of glove box. On Left side see a slot with plastic cover and two sliding latches. Open and remove and replace filter. Follow reverse to finish up. It is tight fit and hard to get to for normal sized man.

I used Randyvs instructions (see above) to finally figure out to replace the air/cabin filter on my 2005 Crossfires. The filter is located behind the glove compartment. It is a little tight if you can picture yourself on your back facing upwards underneath the area just behind the glove compartment you will see a black plastic panel. Just remove that panel (2 screws hold it), and LOOK CLOSELY (it's dark there) for a long black plastic cover (the length of the bottom of the actual filter- about 6/7 inches long and 2 inches wide. If you look closely, there will be 2 tabs (yellow with age). Just slide outward (if I can recall or inward- they keep the cover in place) and the cover will drop. Remove the old cabin air filter (pay attention to how its set in there) with leaves and stuff on it (mine did), wipe the immediate area clean, slide in the new filter (show stay in place), put back the long cover, slides the tabs back, then put back the black plastic cover and put back the 2 screws. Simple!! You dont have to pull back the rug and styrofoam cover on the baseboard- no need to!

Air filtration system failure - crossfire 2005

USUALLY THE AIR FILTRATION SYSTEM,TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE,IS: THE AIR FILTER,PCV VALVE,THE FUEL FILTER,THE AIR BREATHER CANISTER(I THINK THAT'S WHAT IT'S CALLED)ALL OF THESE SHOULD BE CHECKED FOR NOT WORKING PROPERLY,OR DEPENDING ON HOW MANY MILES THE CAR HAS ON IT,REPLACING THEM,THEY ALL CONTRIBUTE TO THE WAY THE AIR CAN FLOW THRU THE SYSTEM,TO KEEP IT RUNNING SMOOTH.

How do I change the air filter, not air conditioning filter, for the engine on a 2005 Crossfire?

The air filter is in the air intake box (usualy square plastic tub) under the hood. A couple of clips unsnap and the top comes off. Replace the element inside.

Strange smell coming from my crhysler crossfire air con. intermittently musty smell from start up and while driving - seems to be at lower speeds. please help if possible

Firstly change your cabin filter(s) if smell still present then there is a cannistor you can buy from AC speciallists. You open the canistor, leave in footwell, close the car (windows, sunroof etc) and leave for a few hours. The can lets off a special gas that kills bacteria caused by AC. Problem solved.

Where is the cargo filter located at to replace?

I assume you are referencing the "Cabin Air Filter" rather than the Cargo Filter.
Open Hood - look on the right side of the cowl, there should be a removable "access" plastic port- remove this port and cabin filter is inside. Note: Not all 300's were OEM equipped w/ cabin air filters.
