1995 oldsmobile aurora ruff running

When I take off normal the car misses like it is running out of gas, until i get to 65 or 70 mph then it runs great. When I put the pedal down the car goes but misses allitle and ocaisionally backfires. I just put champion double platnum plugs and oil change about 500 miles ago, and that didn't help. The motor is clean, no noises, and hold good oil pressure, but cant figure out this problem. Please help

    1995 olds cutlass ciera . falls on its face @ acceleration,slow pedal and it will pick up speed. new plugs,fuel filter not the easy fixes . please help . thank you !!

did you disconnect the battery when you changed the starter? are there any codes stored? like james stated if it was starter related it would have happened right after but I also can't think of a starter causing any problems beyond not starting. if no codes I would check plugs, could be bad gas, and make sure all connectors are plugged in from when the car was worked on , something might have came loose or possibly broke.

It's your air pump running, not your fuel pump. Probably have a small air leak in hoses to shocks.

1995 oldsmobile- car makes a surging or jerking at 45 mph
That is the speed when it would normally shift into overdrive or the torque converter would go into lockup.
It is also when the engine would be working hard and a slight miss could be magnified.
You may want to have a transmission shop test drive it for their opinion.

I have an Aurora.. It is not idling correctly. It sometimes will not shift gears until the 3000 RPMs, and it tries to die when you come to a stop. I have had the transmission rebuilt and replaced, the fly...
These symptoms indicate a vacuum leak. Check all vacuum lines attached to the engine intake manifold--especially any that go to the transmission. Check both ends with the engine running for tight connections and listen for leaks. Also look carefully over the intake manifold for any missing hoses--a port on the manifold that is sucking air. a simple check would be to replace the distributor cap. Often there will be hairline cracks that can't be seen and will cause no trouble until it's wet outside.

I did a 2001 and it wasn't too bad. You need a special tool to remove the pump from the water jacket. I just rented it from Autozone for free.
Don't let is go too long. I let mine go until the bearing froze up. Then it damaged the belt and pully running off the cam. Cost me another 200.00 in parts.

The fuel injectors are clogged up. This is a common occurance with older cars that run out of gas
You can try a can of a good brand of fuel injector cleaner. If that does not help new injectors will be needed
