What do I need to check to find out why the fan to the ac/heater stopped blowing?
Please show pictures
Check your fuses. If you have a test light, unplug the blower motor, start the car, turn the fan on, if you have power to the blower plug, the blower motor is bad. If no power, if it's not a fuse, check the blower motor resistor. Should be mounted right next to the blower motor. It is inserted into the evaporator box
SOURCE: Need to replace a fan relay switch. AC/Heater is
Just buy a new one, remove and disconnect the old one and reinstall.
SOURCE: Ac will not blow
wiggle the blower resistor wire harness it is next to blower motor bad about connector melting
SOURCE: A/C and heat just suddenly quit working
It is most likely the fan motor's internal brushes have worn out. Either you will have to replace the magnetic brushes, or replace the motor all together. There is a tube and wire harness that will have to be removed. Than there is 3 or 4 bolts that hold motor to firewall.

I would check the fan first disconnect the electrical connectors on it and use a pair of home made jumper cables and run it from the battery. If it works move unto relay if it doesn't you've found the culprit.
Next check relay in the fuse box. Coolant tempertant switch(CTS) aka thermal switch and its circuit. CTS is usually located in the water jacket by the t-stat.

verify the fuse first!! the blower is located behind glove box, see it under it and only need to remove 4 phillips screws!
