Turn on radio - the word SAFE will appear in the display. Press th P.SCAN and RBDS buttons simultaneously and hold them down until "1000" lights up in the display.Release buttons.Do not, under no circumtances, continue holding them down or press them once again. This will cause the radio to consider the number 1000 to be the input code.Use station buttons 1,2,3,and 4 to enter the code number on your Radio Card. Use the button 1 to enter the first number 2 for the second number 3 for the third number and 4 for the last number.Once you have entered the code and it shows on the display, press the P.SCAN and RBDS buttons down again simultaneously and hold them down until the word SAFE appears in the display.Release buttons. Soon afterwards a frequency will be displayed.

I got an Audi TT Turbo Model 2000 The radio Bose Audi concert is giving safe on the screen and nothing else what should I click on to reset the radio so I can put the code. Thanks

  1. Turn on radio. The radio display shows "SAFE".
  2. Press the FM2 and RDS buttons simultaneously and hold until "1000" shows on the display. Release the buttons. Do NOT press these buttons again, otherwise the radio will consider "1000" to be the code.
  3. Use Preset buttons 1 ... 4 to enter the four-digit code number from your radio card. Preset button 1 corresponds to the first digit, Preset button 2 corresponds to the second digit, etc. Each press of the button increments the number by 1.
  4. Once the code shown on the display is correct, press the FM2 and RDS buttons simultaneously and hold until the word "SAFE" appears in the display, then release the buttons.
  5. The radio should unlock and be usable shortly afterwards.
  6. If an incorrect code is entered, the word "SAFE" appears, first flashing and then continuously. You can repeat the above steps to unlock the radio once more, the number of attempts will be shown in the display. If an incorrect code is entered again, you radio will be locked for about one hour. After one hour - the radio must stay on and the key must remain in the ignition lock - if the display goes out, the you can repeat the above procedure to unlock again. The cycle - two attempts, one hour lock-up - still applies.

How do i unlock my radio i have the code i just dont know how to get the numbers to see

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have the security anti-theft code for your Audi radio from the car manufacturer, or from an Audi dealer!

The sequence of programming for Audi radio is:
1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed.
2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt.
3. By the #1 key you will set up the first safe code digit.
4. By the #2 key you will set up the second safe code digit.
5. By the #3 key you will set up the third safe code digit.
6. By the #4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit.
7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed. The radio is now ready for use!

I have a 2000 audi A4 and my radio show safe i think i need a code can you help how to get the code and how do it so i can turn the radio on please and thank you very much

It's an anti theft measure -you need to put in a code to unlock it.
The code and how to input it are in the manual of the radio. If you no longer have it then the safest way is to take the car to a dealer - they will search the serial in their databases, find the code and put it in for a small fee.

I brought a car audi 2000 a6 and the radio show the word SAFE, how I cant to fix

the radio is in security mode and requires a 4 digit code to release the radio back into operation. the code is usually inside the owners manual on a preforated type card. maybe first couple pages. (if the manual is still even in there) or maybe previous owner has written it down in manual somewhere. if not then the dealer may have to extract it through their scanner. may cost $$. the 4 digit code will start with 1 or 0 if you happen to find code, reply back to me and ill help you enter it, may be in manual as well. hope this helps

Once the code is shown on the display press and hold the am/fm button and scan button simultaneously until the work safe appears in the frequency display release the buttons a radio station frequency will automatically be displayed ... MAKE SURE YOU PUT IN THE RIGHT NUMBER OR YOU WILL LOCK UP THE RADIO AGAIN AFTER 2 TRYS AND WILL HAVE TO WAIT AN HOUR BEFORE YOU CAN RETRY IT.
