I have a Hyundai lantra 1.8. The sensor on the throttle is playing up but someone said we have to replace the whole throttle body unit. Can we not just replace the sensor on top? Thanks

You need to check the wiring between the ECM/PCM/ECU and the sensor to ensure the sensor is getting the voltage that it should be as well as the voltage it should be putting out. Also check the sensor itself you may have bought a bad sensor. Good luck to you. Thanks for using FixYa!

Sincerely,

SOURCE: Topping up gearbox oil on 99 Hyundai Lantra (manual)

You can actually do it from the top if it is similar to a 2001 Elantra??? On your right center of the tranny, there should be two big bolts I believe a 17mm one on the bottom left the other top right of the other. The bottom left is the drain plug the top right is where you fill it. If you want to make things easier you can remove the air cleaner and the air cleaner housing then unscrew the sensor on top of the tranny you can poor it in from the top. You will need to then unscrew the fill hole (Top right bolt) Pour the lube in to the hole where you had taken out the sensor until it pours out of the fill hole. Sounds like more work but by doing this you will avoid making a mess trying to fit the squeeze bottle into the tiny hole. Hope this makes Sense????

SOURCE: hyundai coupe 1.6 late 98 model 61k miles.

The best thing you can do for now is go for an engine flush and have the mechanics clean your jets. have the timing set by the manufacturer aswell.

Other than that you must enjoy this great car

Locate throttle body sensor on hyundai santa fe 2004 2.4L and replacing it

Well, we both know it is on the throttle body. follow the air filter box to the engine. Where it connects is the throttle body. Do you have drive by wire or cable? f you have cable the sensor is across from where the cables connect. If you have drive by wire, You have to replace the entire throttle body. It is a computer in it self.

Whare is the TPS sensor located on a huyndai 2007 2.7 L? Does the throttle body have to be replaced along with the TPS sensor. Is the replacement sensor rivited to the throttle body? Scott

on the hyundai the tps rarely fails. so check the pedal sensor on pedal of car. there are 2 sensors on this car, one on side of carburator, and one at accelerater pedal check this one first. the throttle body does not need to be changed to fix the tps. but usually it is located on the throttle body. at the throttle plate.

Hyundai Lantra 1994

After some extensive research, it looks as though they have two totally different body styles as well as a few others. The differences are as follows:

Lantra: 1.5L
Elantra: 1.6L or 1.8L engine sizes

Lantra: 2,336 lbs
Elantra: 2,500lbs Weight

Lantra: 11.89 gal
Elantra: 13.7 gal fuel capacity

those are only three differences that i have put up among the many that i have found. Lantra's also seem to be one of those out of states type cars that you find in Australia mostly. The body is also totally different.

I am told I need to repalce the entire throttle body on my 2005 toyota sienna. They said that the throttle position sensor can't just be replaced becasue of "fly by wire" technology. Is this true?

I would get a second opinion try NAPA or AutoZone and ask for the price of the throttle position sensor because on most cars you can get them without replacing the whole throttle body
