I plugged in my car charger on my toyota corolla 2006 and the radio and compass on the rearview mirror went out. I replaced the fuse but it's still not working. My email is [email protected]

I checked all of the 30 and 15 amp fuses and they all seem to be working. could it be in the wiring?

I checked all of the small fuses that are colored. Are you referring to the larger fuses? I followed the direction on the chart for location.

I thought that it only had one fuse box. Where is the other located? I was checking the one under the hood.

Sent the PDF to both addresses this morning; please advise if this helps.

You e-mail address comes back as invalid. Please respond with a correct address so that I may send you the fuse box picture.

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

I have sent you a picture of the fuse box, with the fuse locations visible.

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

The fuse box that you seek is under the driver side of the dashboard on the driver's side.

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Under the driver side of the dash. There is a large white box; the fuses are on the far side. I am going to send you a .svg file to the 2 e-mail address that you provided.

Please get back to me after you see the attachment

Under the dash, driver side for a US car.

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

    Wiring: Doubt it.

    Are you checking BOTH fuseboxes?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

    Which fuse did you replace?

The radio is protected by 2 fuses, the 15 amp DOME fuse, and the 15 amp CIG fuse; the mirror is protected by the 15 amp GAUGE fuse...please advise

The airbag light stays on and the temperature and compass display on the rearview mirror won't work.

2003 Chevy Silverado
our rearview mirror has gone off and the airbag light stays on.
i've determined that this is a fuse, the SIR fuse under the hood, but what I can't figure out is why it's blowing.
It's either something to do with when we hook up the lights to the trailer or it might be from where we installed a new car stereo.
I took it to the Chevy dealer for some other things and told them there was a fuse blown to the rearview mirror and to the airbag and just asked them to replace the fuse while it was in the shop.
on top of the $700 i was already spending, they charged me $98 to diagnose that it was a blown fuse and like $11 to change it, even though I already told them it was the airbag fuse. Highway robbery. And they wonder why we don't like 'em.

The interior rear view mirror has temperature and compass displays, but only work for a short time at start- up.I have tried unplugging the harness on the back of the mirror and cleaning contacts. It`s...

Temperature Display
The inside rearview mirror supplies a 5 volt signal circuit and low reference circuit to the ambient air temperature sensor. The inside rearview mirror monitors and records the voltage on the signal circuit of the ambient air temperature sensor. The inside rearview mirror uses this recorded voltage to display the temperature on the temperature display portion of the compass/temperature display. The temperature display will show "ICE" when the ignition is first turned on and the current temperature is 3°C (37°F) or below. The display will toggle between "ICE" and the actual outside temperature for approximately 4 minutes.
The mirror will display "OC" if the mirror senses a temperature of less than -40°C (-40°F).
the mirror will display a "SC" if the mirror senses a temperature of greater than 112°C (143°F).

Replace the inside rearview mirror with compass. Refer to Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement .

Custom Rear view mirror

Hiya...ALL factory-installed rearview mirrors are installed with different wires due to options.
About 6 different rearview mirrors are installed with those options such as On-Star, light, compass, and those features which use different wires....THIS CANNOT be modified with different rearview mirror....**for example, the Equinox owner attempt to pull out a factory-installed base rearview mirror and put in different one that has compass/temperature built into the rearview mirror**

However, the wires are located inside the front headliner which requires removing the sunvisor (and possible removal of interior plastic trim part at the left/right ends of the windshield) prior to pull the headliner down, and a small metal philips or torx screw is used to secure the rearview mirror onto the bracket glued to the windshield.

The best solution is to leave the original factory-installed rearview mirror in place.
