Hello I'm a M.B. tech. As long as it is original there is no amplifier other than the head unit itself. The only tricky part is getting the antenna to work with the new head unit. Take a test light and find which wire is hot all the time. That will be your circuit 30 wire(radio memmory). Next turn key to position 2 and find your wire( one is for the antenna and the other is for your radio operation) and isolate those 2 wires,. Find your ground wire and those are your basic connections. There is a fader switch in your center console wood. the head unit sends its power ther and it is dispursed to the appropiate speakers(it is also a common problrm when you have no sound. Try to pop the switch up carefully with a flat blade screwdriver. If not pop up the shifter trim ring and pull up on the console wood. You may have to remove the ashtray. It is a fairly simple install hopefully my advice has been helpful.
SOURCE: how to replace a water pump on mercedes e320 1997
It is not complicated, depending on what hands-on level of DIY on car. Here are what need to do, so you can estimate how easy or hard when you look through your engine. Drain all the coolant, remove the thermostat housing, remove the fan, belt. Remove the water pump pulley. There are 4 bolts to hold the water pump in place. If you think you can take them out and put them in without removing the AC compressor then you can do it. I did it twice without removing the AC. The pump was fine for the second time, but for leaking seal. At dealer, it is easier to access from the bottom since they have a lifter. But it is doable at home. Have fun if you decide to do it.
