Alarm sounds everytime key removed from ignition?

2003 Volvo V70 horn/alarm comes on and won't stop if I remove the key from the ignition. I tried pushing Unlock on remote but does not stop it. Only way to stop it is to reinsert key in ignition and turn. What can I do to reset this so I can remove my key and not have the horn/alarm sound?

The bell does "bing" when the driver door is open with key in, and all doors will turn on interior lights and off after shutting, but this has no effect on horn sounding continuously as soon as I pull it out of the ignition. Again, only way to stop horn is to reinsert and turn to at least position I. Called the dealer and their technician said he had never heard of this. They can't get to it until Monday, any other suggestions?

There is a switch either in or on the driver door that turns on the interior lights and tells the module the door is open and the key is still in the ignition, this sounds the alarm, check all the doors and make sure they turn the interior lights on and off when the doors are opened and closed.

What's up with the THANKS FOR TRYING, do this free on my own time, these are items I would check in the shop, so I just eliminated a labor time you would have paid for for, very inappropriate rating.

Removing horns 2007 volvo s80 3.2

Not too hard. You pop the grille out, which if it is like the S60 and V70, you pop out the reusable plastic rivets on the slam panel under the hood, bend the plastic forward, reach your hand in and push the grille out (or push on the tabs to release it and then push it out).
Then you can access the horns from the front.

It's doubtful the horns are bad, if that's why you want to get to them, but test them with 12v and see.

If they're not working right, it's possible that your alarm module is bad - but that would be another thing to try once you've determine the horns are good.

92 Toyota 4runner truck was running perfectly fine Later in the day went to start and the alarm just started going off and wouldn't turn off. Truck won't start even with keys turned in igniti

The alarm system somehow got activated , this is usually because the battery becomes discharged or disconnected try doing this:
Remove the key from the ignition
disconnect the negative battery terminal
put the key back in and turn to ON
exit the truck and leave door open
reconnect the battery terminal
get in and leave door open, if the alarm horn stays off it should start.

Volvo s60 2003 - Without warning the car won't start but when you leave it overnight it appears to be okay. Clock runs sporatically and different msgs such are airbag, alarm was going off, removed

Sound like you are dealing with a bad battery connection,or even a bad ignition switch,Volvo at your year had ignition related problems where the ignition switch would go past position 1,this was due to ingition column lock,On your type of make and model it is not adviseable you crank the engine, and recrank the engine if it not starting your immoblizer is done every one key ignition cycle, and can create false message,or DTC (trouble codes),

1998 volvo s70. Gearshift has been sticking - must pull down lock to get it fully into "park". Problem today is that alarm sounds when you open the door or turn the key in the ignition. ...

There is a cable that connects your gearshift to the ignition switch, when this cable stretches, it does not allow the gearshift assembly to move when you have the key turned. Removed the assembly around the gear shift assembly and inspect this cable. Removed the cable and manually actuate the lever. See if this fixes the problem as it is common in the S70/C70/V70s that are pre 2000

Alarm haywire, can't override anti-theft system or turn on car

The Alarm on my Mercedes ML320 sounded every night, then it started doing it more often, Showed it to the dealer he says it's the 'Tow Sensor', that needs to be repaced. $700, down the drain. I have already started hating this car, it eats $500-600, every 6 months...
