1995 subaru no fuel pressure

No fuel pressure - could not hear fuel pump when key turned on. fuel pump replaced about a year ago. took connector off fuel pump. 12V to fuel pump on only fraction of a second to blue/yellow wire on connector when key is turned on then goes to zero. Is it probable that the fuel pump relay is bad? How do I get to the relay?

Might check the charging system, when the key is turned on it primes the pump only for a few seconds then when the engine starts the alternator takes over.

Are your injectors firing into the engine? You can buy a test kit to double check that. Is there spark at the plugs?

I had the same problem sorta with my civic it turns out after doing timing belt water pump, and many gaskets i had a huge vaccum leak.

Also check your fuel lines to see if they are loosing pressure somewhere

The blue wire changes to Blue/White. It gets power from the Fuel Pump Relay. Fuse number 11 is the power source. The relay is up under the dash panel, blue connector

It could be the relay, But I don't think you have one, most starters are direct wired from the key to a solenoid on the starter, If there is a relay, it is the big fuse box under the hood, and is just a electric switch, not subject to cold. It sounds more like the terminals are filthy and the contacts are not connecting. Clean off all the wires with a wire brush and scrub the terminals with it, get underneath the connections too. Where the battery cables connect to the lead terminals, If I was up there I would be plugging in my car at night to keep it warm. It will start right up in the morning.

You may have pressure in the system, but the system will only work properly within a narrow pressure range - too low or too high will cause problems. Have the fuel pressure checked over several operating conditions (pressure too low is usually the pump or a rubber connector in the fuel line collapsing under high engine load, too high is usually the regulator).

check your grounds. I find many easy fixes by cleaning all the grounds around the engine bay. I would also check the ground at the fuel pump connector that wiring is prone to corrosion and breakage

You probably have a bad fuel pump. Get a fuel pressure gauge and check for fuel pressure at the shrader valve. Put the key to the on position. Your fuel pump should run for about 2 seconds. Your pressure should go up to 30-40 psi. If no pressure your pump is bad. Make sure you hear the relay come on, otherwise could be the relay. You should hear it click when you turn the key to the on position.

Truck won't start, can't hear either fuel pump 1992 Ford F 150 5.

If you can't hear the fuel pump when you turn the key to the on position trying to build up fuel pressure, it is most likely either a voltage issue at the fuel pump or you need to replace the fuel pump. Have you checked your fuel filter? Try turning on the key without engaging the starter and see if you hear the whine of the fuel pump.

Fuel problem

When you turn your ignition key to the on position, you should hear the fuel **** make a whrring sound . it means that your fuel pump is good. if not , the fuel **** is bad. Even if you took off the fuel pump and powered it directly. That does not mean it is good evev if it turns a bit. It has to have enough pressure.replace the fuel pump. You should have no problems after that.

1995 Subaru Legacy will crank but won't run.

You can start by checking the fuel pump and testing it for current but it may also be in the starting system so check to see if the starting solenoid is working properly.
