Hi, I just purchased a 2005 1/2 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro, & I have the same exact problem. I bought it to the dealer 2x already & they said there's nothing wrong with it.They said they put it on the computer & the codes were right. The car vibrates so bad ,that I have to put it in neutral at every stop. is there any way to stop this I'm ready to get rid of this car, the vibration is way too uncomfortable. There has to be a something wrong with this car! Is there any way this can be fixed?Hi, I just purchased a 2005 1/2 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro, & I have the same exact problem. I have the same problem. Every time I tell the service tech about the vibration, he tells me it is "in spec"! How can a heavy vibration like that be "in spec"???I have the same problem. A 2006 A4 Quattro, was driving fine when i drove off the lot and when I went to work, but on my way home from work I started expriencing heavy vibrations at low speeds... and the check engine light when on... and gave me a funny symbol, and since I do not have an owners manual.A 2006 A4 Quattro, was driving fine when i drove off the lot and when I went to work, but on my way home from work I started expriencing heavy vibrations at low speeds... and the check engine light when on... and gave me a funny symbol, and since I do not have an owners manual.

Well, as long as the engine lite is not flashing, it is considered safe to drive temporarily. i suspect you could have a misfire issue. need to read codes in vehicle computer. ill try to help best i can. are you mechanically inclined? may want to go to autozone for free code scan and get code # for me. could be spark plugs, coils. other variables involved as well

Most of the time when an epc light comes on and you have no throttle response it's best to connect it to a bag-com but if you don't have one have the computer scanned for a check engine code remember just because there's no check engine light on doesn't mean the ecu doesn't have on in memory.. So if you do have a code like p1639 then you have a bad accelerator peddle
I learned recently from a customer that on the Audi A4 1.8T (and possibly other models of Audi) - when fueling, make sure the fuel cap is turned (tightened) at least 4-5 times to ensure the seal is good. Otherwise, the check engine light will come on and the pressure (lack thereof) in the tank will affect the performance of the engine.
This may be true as well for other makes an models of other brand vehicles.
Hi You may have to replace the system pressure cap. Also check to see if the system is under pressure soon after starting the engine if it is it could be Head Gasket, my money is on the anti-free reacting with the rad cap (for your sake), have a look at the over flow hose to see if the end is whet after a short drive. Let me know how you get on and any more info that would help me this end. Regards David
check the seal on your gas cap if the seal is bad it will cause that issue make sure the cap gets tight just because the cap clicks doesnt meen its tight you might just replace the cap they cost about 20 dallors
These cars are very complex and it's not easy to diagnose. You should take it to a qualified technician with the proper electronic disagonstic tools to verify the problem. Start off with a full scan. It may be a simple as a software upgrade or as complex as the tranny needing repair. I wouldn't drive the car hard and get this resolved asap.
the battery light coming on usually indicates that the alternator is not charging you can check it yourself if you have a volt meter,it should charge between 13.8 & 14.3 volts ......hope this helps.....cheers
Could be a broken motor mount, so that one of the pulleys is scraping a shroud or some other fixed item.
Examine the area around the pulleys and see if there is bare metal below one of them.
If so, have the motor mounts checked.
The CEL means there is a Diagnostic Fault Code stored in the Engine Control Unit. There are 1000's of DTC's, so you will need to have it read by a Code Reader. Auto Parts stores like Auto Zone, Pep Boys, perhaps even Advanced Auto often will read the code for you; but by law they cannot clear the codes. Many codes do not cause drivability problems, severe ones will trigger the ECU to run in a Limp Mode, which would require repair work before any trip longer than a few miles. Hope this is helpful.
