Got an 89 thunderbird, New alternator, Battery.. and for giggles a new solenoid(starter relay) Replaced fusable links, checked continuity between all circuits going to and from the alternator to battery. Checked the grounds, everything checks out ok. Crank the car... no charge coming from the alternator to the batt. so.. I had the alternator and battery bench tested and both come out perfectly fine.... I'm at a complete loss here. help?
Check the ignition switch that is a common problem. I just bought A 89 T-bird and the old owners had the same problem. they changed changed the battery and alternater.. and still had problemsI got the car changed the key switch
Did you hook up the wires from the correctly? Some batteries have the pos and neg reversed on the mounting posts. You may need to double check battery cables and alternator cables are charging. If you have a volt meter, you can perform more diagnostic tests on your own. Like testing output of alternator to ensure you are putting out the correct polarity.
