Front widshield washer fromm 1999 Cherokee doesn't work

My rear windshietd washer fluid reaches the rear windshield but not the front. Is the reservoir both used for front and back and where is it located? my front washer &wipers work fine and my rear wiper works but it wont wash. I don't use it very often but I'm pretty sure it was working until I changed the back wiper blade.

In my 2007 Saturn Vue there is what I think is an air pump which is cracked that one port is not connected to anything.

There is a electric motor that pumps washer fluid . Located in the bottom of the washer fluid tank .
Wash Operation (Front and Rear Wipers)
The front and rear washer systems use the same windshield washer fluid pump. When either the front or rear wiper is in the washer position voltage will be supplied to one side of the windshield washer fluid pump (depending on whether it is front or rear), while the other side of the pump is grounded.
At this point, the windshield washer fluid pump sprays solvent onto the windshield. When the front or rear washer is activated, the BCM receives an input from the switch that is activated. The BCM will control the wipers while in the WASH mode. The BCM will control either the front wiper relay or the rear wiper relay to turn on the wipers. The windshield wipers operate at low speed for 3 swipes and returns to the park position.

When turning on the washers do you hear the motor run ? Have some one try it while you listen at the washer fluid tank ! These pump motors do go bad .
turn OFF the ignition.
Disconnect the harness electrical connector of the windshield washer fluid pump.
Connect a test lamp from the windshield washer pump control circuit to a good ground .
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Press the front washer switch.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
YES or NO !

Fluid pumps from back but not from front windshield washer on my 1999 jeep grand cherokee

The pump for it on the bottom of the washer reservoir may be bad, or the wire may have got unplugged. The rear washer has its own separate reservoir and pump.
If the pump for the front works, the lines may be plugged.
Good luck.

Hi...I have a 1999 Jeep cherokee Sport. The windshield washer quit..dont know if it is a clogged line or a pump. Not hearing the pump when I activate. Also lines appear to be hidden.

This is most likely due to the washer pump going out. I just replaced mine on my 2000 cherokee. There is a front and back pump which is located under the drivers side fender. You will have to remove the plastic corner bumper to get access to the pumps. This is an easy job to do yourself. Dont forget to have something ready to drain the fluid into when you remove the pump from the washer tank. The front pump is located below the rear pump.

Located washer fluid rear windshield

Sometimes the rear washer fluid tank is located in the rear hatch area. you may see it when you open the hatch, it will be on the side with a cap covering where you wouuld put the fluid in. If the nozzle is clogged you can use a small pin and stick it in the hole to try to dislodge ant debris in the hole.

My 96 Jeep GC windshield washer isn't squirting. I can hear it run when pushing the washer button and I hear fluid running ; but it doesn't spray on the windshield. Also , my wiper blade in the rear window...

your rear wiper motor might be faulty,in the front i would check your fluid level-if it is full and you hear the pump running-check your washer lines to see if they are pinched-usually around where the hood closes

1999 Jeep Cherokee rear window washer

There are two separate washer pumps underneith the washer res. behind the front driver quarter panel. The exact pumps are hard to find. I have the same prob with my 99, but both are out. I had a 98 that the front worked but not rear. I had to get a "universal" washer pump. I'm still trying to find a factory replacement for this one before I do that. No luck so far.
