My o/d light would blink on and off sometimes. When i would put it in reverse it would kick in right away. But when i put it in drive it doesnt go right away. i would have to floor it and step on the accelerator so it can kick in. I need help on why this is happening. I checked the trans fluid and it has the right amount
More than likely u have the a4ld trans if that is the case would be eaisest to replace it and cheeper the shift bands or more thank likly gone in it
Get your car to a transmission shop right away! You may have not damaged it beyond repair, but you will soon if you keep doing what you say you're doing to it.

sounds like a large vacuum hose was knocked off the engine when they pulled the trans out, have that checked.

truck needs to be scanned for the codes,most major parts stores will do this for little or no charge,get back to me with the codes and we'll go from there

most likely cause is a defective ignition coil, there is one for each cylinder (coil over plug), the dealer will have to test it to determine which of the eight coils is the source of the miss. the coils are about $60 each
SOURCE: over drive light on shifter blinks and check engine light is lit.
You need to have it scanned for codes. The flashing overdrive light means it has trouble codes that pertain to the transmission.
