Upgrading nissan almera dipped headlights?

Hi, my 2005 Nissan Almera dipped headlights are really dim, even though I've replaced the halogen bulbs. Is it possible just to replace the halogens with extreme brilliance or Osram Nightbreaker bulbs, or would something else need to be replaced to (e.g. upgrade the fuse)? Sorry - don't know much about cars!!

Have you taken your Altima to a dealership in a while? There was a recall on the 05 Altima for misalligned headlights...thus resulting in poor lighting quality...this could be the reason as well...

I would have the complete headlight circuit checked out by a competent tech before buying more bulbs.

My Nissan Almera keeps cutting out completely whilst driving?

run the fault codes and look for cam/crank position sensors.
faulty or loose connections may cause this fault. If you have more than 1 key in the ignition then it has been known that the mass of swinging keys will switch off the ignition
(current recall on all GMC ignition switches for just this reason)

Hi Jan, The codes are anti theft devices and are unique to each vehicle. If it is not recorded in the user manual (maybe a separate manual for the radio) ask your dealer for it. Regards and happy new year John

Replacing the front lights on a Nissan Almera.

I needed my headlight bulb changed. The repair shop quoted $125. Their repair manual said the front bumper had to be removed to access the light. But they found a work-around: by removing the battery, they were able to get at the light and replace the bulb. Only cost me $46 to replace my $5 bulb!
