When i pull the headlight switch on there are no dash lights and the clock stops and the gas gauge goes berzerk. but headlights and tail lights and turn signals work.
Probably bad ground in the dash circuitry. You'll have to pull it out and check all the connections. Big job.

I would check your headlight relay switch that is located in your steering colum

You would have to check and see if you are getting any power out of the light switch. There is a seperate wire for the headlights and the dash lights.

You have a short to ground somewhere in the drl-fog lamp circuit. Check for obvious wiring connector or wiring to drl & fog lamps. check wiring for pinched or broken wires coming from sockets. If you don't find problem, you can trace wiring from lamps to main harnesses and hopefully find source of short.
