I already checked all the hoses, check the heater core and hoses to it. i pour water in the radiator and it comes out running down the transmission just as fast while the truck is off and cold. When running it sprays out really fast. the truck never had a leak of anything, only overheated once and that was last night. i shut the truck off and parked it when it hit 250 degrees. only thing i can think of is freeze plugs in the back. i checked the rest that i could get to. is there away to get them off and change them without pulling the ****** and or motor, need the truck for work monday morning. thanks.
Yes, sounds like a freeze plug. You should be able to replace without raising engine, but some exhaust piping may be in the way. If you can get the old one out (If it already hasn't fallen out), use what is called an expansion plug to replace, They are cheap, reliable alternatives to the old all metal core plug, and easier to install.
Good luck. .
It might be a freeze plug, but I bet it is an O-ring on a pipe back there under the manifold that is leaking, It is a job to get to, but it can be done. Either way, you have to take a bunch of stuff out of the way. There are about 10 little pipes running around back there and one or two big ones, about 1 1/4 dia. Check it out.

Yeah possible block plug broke open or it may be going through the block heater that might be installed wrong or has come loose ..

you need to get it checked out by someone with mechanical knowledge as it may be a freeze plug or cracked pump housing, burst radiator, just try to see where the water is coming out if you can while you pour it in.

There are two freeze out plugs at the rear of the block (V8) and many v6 engines. If coolant is coming from where you say, likely they have failed. Unfortunately, the only way to reach them is to remove engine or transmission, It's rare that they fail because they are "protected " by the bellhousing, but can still rot from the inside out. There is no sealer known to man that will fix this. It's a shame that you need to do all that work for a pair of $2.00 plugs, but that's what needs to happen.
