get the a/c condensor recharged with a freon substitute, i use "red-tek 12a refrigerant", it is much safer than freon and is ozone friendly.

Check your timing belt. Lee (really I'm serious) if you are not getting the crank/cam position signals it will have this effect. Lee

SOURCE: Where is the asd relay on my 1990 dakota?

ASD is in the engine compartment fuse block.

The pump relay should be there also. Check your fuse panel in the truck though.

Fuses, Relays & Circuit Breakers The fuse panel box is to the right of the glove box with the glove box door opened or beneath the instrument panel (dashboard) on 1989-93 models.

Usally a pair of needle nose pliers will work. There is a metal piece that goes across the fuse, if that metal piece is broken in 2, the fuse is bad.

Why does 91 dodge dakota shuts off power to coil after driving

The auto shut down relay controls power to the coil and fuel injection so if on power is at the coil once the engine dies this is normal check cranking it should return but no spark then test the crank shaft sensor iit is on back of engine passenger side bolted to block.

Dodge dakota fuel shut off

Well there is no shut-off fuse, but there is a 20amp fuse that powers the auto shutdown relay and the fuel pump relay.
It should be in the fuse box in the engine compartment, and the location should be in your owners manual.

Ran ok till i changed distributor, cap, crank sensor now it will not start codes up as safty shutdown, fuel pump relay circuit and ignition/distributer engine speed input circuit can anyone tell me whats the...

It is the Auto Shutdown Relay located in the power distribution center under the hood, the black box with all the fuses and relays. Replace the relay, and check all the 30amp and 50 amp fuses. You might try removing the relay and reinstalling it first, to see if it will reset.

My 91 jeep wrangler 4.0 will shut down all power at all speeds from idle to driving on the interstate. I jumped out the auto shutdown relay and it works fine but i cannot find the auto shutdown switch to...

There is no switch. The relay gets a signal from the computer. If there is no signal from the crank position sensor the computer will not close the relay. If it runs with the relay bypassed, chances are good that the relay itself is bad.

I need help, the fuel injectors on the TB are not getting any power. Can you tell me where I should start looking for the issue?

The first thing to look for is any fuse/relay blown in the fuse/relay panel. (you never did say weather you had power to everything else on the engine) If you do not have power to aything else then look at the (auto shutdown relay) for the problem. Hope this will help you.

Differential has gone bad in 91 Dakota(V6 auto.). I have access to 89 Dakota (V6 auto). Can I change out the entire rear-end. Can I put the axles from the 91 into the 89 to keep the 6 lug wheel pattern....

91 to 93 can have the same 6 lug pattern. the 89 is strickly a 5 lug. The axles from the 89 will not fit in the 91 differential. Yes it would be easier on you to change out the whole thing and change it to a 5 lug truck. Good luck, from a Chrysler parts employee.
