I put my 1989 Honda Prelude engine (auto) into a 1988 shell with manual transmission, and now my revs stay high only when driving and changing gears. Was wondering if it is a vacuum hose issue and how

may need to swap the computer also.. manual computer is different..but yes.. be looking into any vacuum leaks..block off any open ports you find..

The manual and auto ECUs are not interchangeable, the auto ecu needs signals from the auto shifter and gearbox that it is not getting.

Just had a new engine but will not 'link' up with auto gearbox. it drives & changes gear but only at 3500 rpm, as though its stuck in power mode

the gear box has its own PCM check to see that all the wires at the transmission are good could have damaged something in the engine installation.also check the fuses.
