Wont start My son has a 1994 Cherokee Limited.he dove it early in the morning and ran fine. when he tried to sart it later in the day it turned over and sputtered for awhile but will not start. Ignition module was replaced about 2 months ago. tried starting fluid in the air cleaner but nothing. Un hooked new battery and when hooked back up parking light are flashing and wont stop. Changed fuel filter, still nothing. Checked for spark and it is there. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated since I'm in Ohio and he's in Florida. thanks anyone and everyone.

He has spark all the time-- as for the transfer grease I,m not sure but will check-- he said the parking lights are flashing like when the alarm is going off, could this problem with the starting be related the the security system and can it be disabbled? Thanks Jeff

On some jeep models unhooking the battery will set off the alarm . try cycling the drivers door lock with the key to reset . if alarm is on will cause no start

The starting fluid things results are what is leading me here , I'm calling it an ignition problem (read:no spark).
The issue you have had with the ignition module a couple a months ago leads me back there as well.
When the module was replaced , was the white heat transfer grease spread liberally on the heat sync?
Failure to do this will cause the module to overheat easily enough.
The flashing lights now, That's a stumper. Is the emergency warning light switch turned on?

I'd assume the alarm could be disabling the ign. , But you say you are getting spark. The alarm would explain the lights.
Pull the distributor cap and turn the engine over... is the rotor turning? (checking for a broken timing belt)

Start not starting

it sounds like a fuel pump .remove the fuel inspection cap on the fuel rail at the top of the engine and make a pump presser check, must be around 45-65 psi, anything lower means a defected pump.another way
of checking a pump is banging on the fuel tank while having some body cranking the eng. if the eng fires up it means it is a pump.

Check for spark-if you have a tachometer, see if when you crank it the tach needle moves-if not, you probably need a crank sensor, which are not too expensive or difficult to replace.
