I have a 2001 2.0 Ghia Focus. The key fob has broken, so I only have central locking, but not for boot operation. I can hear the central locking activate and deactivate while I simply sit in the car, or while I am driving. Any ideas?
Also, should indicators light up when activated as well as deactivated?

There is only one fuse that mentions 'Locking', but also refers to the General Electrical Module (GEM). If you change the fob battery, you need to reprogram it to the vehicle. Or you could open any Transit around you. Lots of help below including resetting..
(door lock actuator)all doors have one in them, they weeken, and sometimes work to open, and some times to lock, or not at all. only fix is to replace each of them as they go out, usually cost abt 20 to 40 bucks a piece
reset the fob,,,turn key on,leave it for 10 minutes, then turn it off,and right back on,,do this two more times,a total of thirty minutes, this should reset the fob.
Hi steve, try the central locking fuse, fuse 63.its in a stupid place (thanks ford)its at the back of fuse panel.two bolts release the fuse board, turn it around and there it sits,20 amp fuse.replaced mine and its working great.hope this helps mate
is central locking not working with remote & did you try using key to see if central locking is working at all if working with then its a good chance that key fob is faulty if its not then first need to check fuses & for radio is it going on when switched on display will say code---- if it does then it req code if not then again possibilty a fuse might be on same circuit as your central locking fuse
