Yesterday I was driving home from work and all of my warning lights came on as I was driving on the highway then shut off. I exited the highway and came to a stop light. As I began to accelerate, it seemed as though my transmission was stuck in a higher gear. I slowly reached a higher speed and it was shifting gears just fine. As I reached the next stop light I manually put it in Low "L" gear to see if my transmission was completely screwed. It accelerated just fine. I think it may be a fuse because when I got home I turned my car off and back on to test it and the acceleration was normal. My warning lights then flashed on and off again and it failed to switch back to the low gear when I was at a stop.
Do not add ATF oil willly-nilly
never just add it ever.
we must check it first. using the correct method.
its done hot engine, and in park,
and never ever overfilled.
warning lamps acted odd, but never once named them all
making help for that near impossible. sad no?
they have names and all are important.
im thinking RPM is low, its not the transmission at all
its the engine is weak.
and the CHECK engine lamp came on and then you IGNORED IT.
why?
get car scanned now, or serviced
ever get a tuneup this decade, No? wow.
Have the fault codes read as it could be wiring or TCM problem
if you have a transmission dipstick , add oil via that tube

I had this problem once after I had taken the trooper to a car wash and washed under the hood. Got the blinking light and low power on take off. I took off the bracket that holds the trans relay along with a few other relays located on the right wheel well under the hood. Took the relay wire conections apart and cleaned them and it worked like a charm again. Even better than before. You may just check the leads to the relay to ensure that they are not corroded or gummed up. Also it may just be your relay malfunctioning. In any case your trans relay is the one that is visible without taking of the mounting bracket. Good luck

If its the 3.0 diesel it could be the rail oil pressure sensor starting to pack up .

If the fluid is up -
it could be a vacume loss or the shifting module..
The shifting module is what tells it to shift - and it is controled by vacume pressure..

I would change the trans flter, trans fluid, and have the linkage on the trans adjusted.

Are there any Isuzu dealers in America anymore? I thought they all left. If you have one still, go to it.
