First off ASAP remove the ABS fuse so you don't have an accident. you might have a bad ABS unit or wheel sensor.. This is a very very common problem with these trucks. But removing the fuse will allow you to stop till you have a chance to repair it.

SOURCE: 1997 Cheverolet Suburban

I had the same problem with my 97 Suburban & replaced all the same stuff before i found out what really was wrong. it turned out to be a front wheel bearing. my abs would kick on at low speeds under 10 mph right before completly stopping. there is an electrical sensor in the wheel bearing that was malfunctioning creating the illusion the wheels were about to lock up therefore kicking on the abs. now all you have to do is figure out which wheel bearing is the source of your problems. if i were a betting man, i would stack my chips on this solution. good luck.

SOURCE: Jeep Cherokee 1989 brakes not working

abs module shouldn't keep the vehicle from stopping but the light will come on if there is a leak in the system you could simply disconnect the module to find out though I would check the master cylinder and calipers/wheel cylinders though look for leaks on the floor board (under the brake pedal) around the wheel make sure when you bleed the brakes you only add new brake fluid dot 3 or 4 any water or contamination can cause failure+abs light a bad booster/and/or/vacuum line will cause excessive pressure on the pedal but should still stop the vehicle. if the vehicle was ever wrecked there could be kinked lines but not likely

SOURCE: bad brakes on gmc suburban,

Gravity bleed your brakes starting at the wheel farthest from the master cylinder. No pweddle pumping. I Fill M/C and leave cover off. Then open the bleeder and watch what is coming out. Uou can see bubbles. When the fluid drips steady and without bubbles, cole and do the same to the other three. Don't let the master cykinder get low because thr fluid level helps move the fluid and air through the lines.Periodically tap the break lone with your wrench to keep everything moving.. When sll bleeders drip clean and steady. Make sore your rear brakes are adjusted to barely touch the drum. Then top off the master cylinder, cap it and give yourself a "break". :)

SOURCE: ABS light and brake light on

there are 2 options, ABS module is most likely, I just had my ABS module remanufactured and it worked greate when i re-installed.

the second option is the wheel sensor could have a bad connection(may have been bumped when your bearing got looked at.

there are a few companies that repair ABS modules, i used modulemasters, they did a good job, i can not vouch for any of the other companies.

What is a abs modular on a Escalade Cadillac?

Jesse, The module will not stop fluid to rear brakes, a bad master cylinder will, leaking lines, air in brake system, faulty metering block if equipped, collapsed flex lines or pinched brake line faulty caliper or brake cylinders, etc. will cause the possible feeling of no rear brakes.
(ABS Module components) the ABS speed sensors and the ABS control module . When the brake is applied, the ABS control module reads the speed data from the speed sensor and sends the correct pressure to each wheel to prevent any wheel lock up, eg. sliding/skidding Links below have more info.

Why does my ABS light stays on and sometimes i get a vibration in the brake petal causing my 2002 Cadillac escalade not wanting to stop?

The light being on means the system has detected a problem in one or more sensors. The vibration is the ABS modulating the brakes to prevent skidding because it has detected a wheel that is locked up. That wheel is most likely the one sensor that is giving you the error.

Brakes grindind at low speed

Sounds like your getting abs activation when its not needed. Most likley one of the wheel speed sensors has failed. You do need to have a scan tool to read the live data from the abs module as the problem is occurring to pinpoint which sensor is faulty. The abs light will not come on because the abs module thinks its just working normally. I'm an ASE certified mechanic and have seen this problem many times on various vehicles. You might have to pay somebody to diagnose it, but replacing the sensor it a very easy task. I hope this helps.
