2001 hyundai accent i start it up, runs about 5 then stalls. Rev a lil over 2000 rpm and it startd to die let the gas and itll just idle normal. So I give it some gas about 1000 rpm until engines warm fully. Rev it up past 2000 rpm and it doesnt do what it did when it was cold runs perfect starts right up. I got the crank postion sensor replaced 2 weeks ago ever since it been acting like this. I run the code reader and its only o2 sensor heater circuit malfunction downstream.

Sounds like a coolant sensor problem. It signals the ECU for open loop, cold start rich, high idle, until warm up is reached.

Plug the vacuum line you unplugged and the idle should come back. Change your air filter and the map sensor. check for correct coolant level and replace the coolant temp. sensor. This sensor affects cold starting and idle through the ECU (open loop mode, rich fuel mapping and 1200 rpm idle) It should go to closed loop mode in the ECU once engine warm up is achieved ( lean fuel mapping and normal 900 rpm idle). Do not unplug anything else till you perform an OBDII scan of the stored fault history

Why will my 2001 hyundai accent not idle? you have to push the gas to start it, and if you push the break it stalls? whats wrong with it?

its maybe your spark plug wires. when they get old, they cn cause this problem. in the meantime, put your car in neutral when breaking and give it a little gas at the same time.

Hyundai accent stops running after heats up

I had the exact smae problem and threw aaway a ton of money on bad "guesses" at what was wrong. The actual fix was replacing the crank shaft position sensor for 50 or 60 bucks. Swapped out bad for good and cars has run great every day since.
