Need to know how to reset the change oil light on my 2002 aztec

I cant get my change oil light to reset didnt get a manual when i bought the car please help

On the 2002 you just go to the information center and scroll through to reset oil change hold set..

If you have the Driver information Center then you just select engine life cycle and hold down set button, otherwise You turn the igniton on, pump the pedal 3 times within 5 seconds, the change oil light should start flashing indicating it has been reset.

It should be in your owners manual. On most models you either depress the gas pedal three times or go into the settings thru the radio controls to reset the oil change reminder.

turn the key to the on position and pump th gas pedal 5 times within 6 sec. then turn the key off. wait 10 sce and crank the vehicle. it should reset the light.

if i had new bmw i would let only the bmw dealership change oil and service the car period, bmw is a very expensive car every body cant work on them.let dealership do the oil change they the only ones can reset your oil service light,its not easy to reset if you dont know how. most of the time if you have new vechicle the place where you bought the car will cut you a oil change deal.

I took it to get a oil change and the spark pluggs and now it has the check engine light they ur the scanner and they didnt find anything it didnt gave any code.
reset your ecm/ After word done they never reset it. good luck.

Perform Service light came on and I dont have a Owners Manual . What kind of service it might need?
Many times this light will come on when the oil needs to be changed.If oil has been changed recently the light may have not been reset at the time of service so the computer doesn't know when the oil was actually changed.

Hello bcole.
Here you are.
To reset the system, you must do the following:
  1. With the ignition key to ON, push the RESET button located in the driver's side instrument panel fuse block.
  2. When the CHANGE OIL light starts to flash, press and hold the RESET button again. The reset is complete when you hear the chimes sound and the CHANGE OIL light goes out.

Cant get change oil light to turn off
There is a red reset button is the fuse panel on the inside of driver side dashboard for the change oil light. With the key on and the engine off, depress the button once, which will start the light blinking. Now depress the button and hold it. The light should go out and a chime should sound to indicate that the reset is complete.

Oil light stays on
You need to put the key on and push the gas pedal to the floor three times within five second to reset the oil life light.Some g.m.'s have a reset buttom in the fuse panel that needs to be pushed first and some don't.Check the owners manual under change oil for your specific year car.
