There is a noise coming from what sounds like the front driver side (it sometimes sounds like it's coming from the passenger side and rear). It sounds like metal rubbing on metal, but at a pace like morse code- It’s not a constant sound at all. It happens at all different speeds, but it comes and goes. I’d say I’m hearing it about 540-60% of the time I’m driving. It's too faint to record the sound.

the first thing i would check is the sway bar bushings they usualy go first. you have a bushing out somwhere. ive replace many struts because people have requested new struts and when we install them they come back and complain that the clunk is still there and all it needed was a bushing kit for $20
hope this helps

CV AXLES NEED TO BE REPLACED. LOOK AT THE RUBBER BOOTS ON THE INSIDE OF THE WHEELS WHERE THEY GO INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND YOU MAY SEE GREASE. I HOPE THIS HELPS. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA.

Galants use a special automatic transmission fluid . It needs to be changed at 30,000 mile intervals or the transmission will malfunction. You can change it just like changing your engine oil . You can purchase OEM ATF at the Mitsubishi dealer or a synthetic equivalent at the auto store. It's about $6 to $7 dollars a quart and you will probably 5 or 6 quarts. This is the cheapest thing to try to solve your problem.
