1995 olsmobil 98 3.8 no ac on motor can a belt fit

as there are engine running that have no ac fitted there will be belts to fit your car. Go to an auto parts shop that has a good selection of belts and they will have a catalogue with your belt listed.

if belt was not put on properly car wont run. if its improperly timed valves are opening and closing when they shouldnt be. which inturn will not ,ix air gas and timing spark. when belt is on wrong it will seem like no compression because valves are improperly working. belt must be put on the rite way for your car to run.

start from bottom crankshaft pulley and ac compressor turn belt tensioner counterclockwise or lift forward then run pulley belt around crankshaft pulley and around AC compressor,run pulley belt around power steering pump then around alternator,once drive belt around alternator you done make sure drive is center of crankshaft pulley and AC compressor pulley.and belt back is center against water pump pulley before releasing the belt tensioner.

The idlers may be located differently on a non ac engine versus an ac engine, or the pulley sizes may be different. I have seen many different pulley sizes for the alternator alone! I suggest taking an old belt or a piece of string and routing it where the belt should go. Measure the length and see if your parts store can get a belt of that length.

if there is no listing for a belt w/o ac you will have to trial and error. take the number of the belt and get a shorter one. start with 200mm

Hi, as long as the engine's the same (single or twin cam), as far as I know they're identical, should fit straight in. Hope this helps :)

You'll need a torque wrecn and a degree tools (most auto parts stores sell them). Torque sequence is 15lbs, then 37lbs then 130 degrees.

Yes it is the auto parts store can look up your car and get a belt for the same motor without AC if noe is listed without ac take a string and run it aroud all the pullys and don't include the A/C then mark the string and then can then mesure the belt and find a belt for you.
