When door is opened and car is driven dome light will not go out until the 20 minute safety shuts it off what do i do
Is the switch in the door bad?leave the key in the ign does the key chime go off before you open the door i think that model the switch is built into the lock assembly
SOURCE: how do i make the dome light come on when the doors open
There should be a switch on the light to select from doors to off.

I would ask a clarification request but it can't be done for this format. Anyway. Does the car have any type of aftermarket add on? Alarm, remote car start?
The Bonneville has a very sensitive electrical system. If there is an add on device there's a possibility that it has failed. There's more to installing an aftermarket device in a Bonneville than a simple install in a 'normal' car.
Another thing to check is the trunk and hood lights/switches. It's possible that the switch is broken or failed and is causing you the problems. Check to be sure that the trunk light and under hood light turns off when closed. They do take quite a beating over time.
Hope that helps.

This could be an anti theft security issue. This happens all the time in GM's. The anti thefts are known to fail and cause the car to not start, stall while driving, or start for 1-5 seconds and then die. A good indication that the security is failing is if you see a light on the dash that says SECURITY or a picture of a car with a padlock thru the window. This link explains the problem, symptoms, and some DO IT YOURSELF solutions. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
