02 CLK 430 Cab. Brake pedal to the floor - too soft

Brake pedal goes to the floor before stopping. ABS engages everytime I stop. Since dead battery/battery replacement, only ABS brake system has changed. Used to be perfect before battery replacement. How can I reset the ABS system, brake pedal, etc.?

SOURCE: 2002 clk 430. my car

its sounds like the classic case of the stop lamp switch going bad,you step on the pedal, esp sees a difference in the pressures at the booster, but doesnt actually see the pedal moving because the switch has gone bad, also causing the vehicle to not come out of park because this vehicle is designed to not come out of park unless the key is in position 2 and the brake pedal is depressed.if you really need to get the car out of park to get somewhere,on these models i believe there is a flap of plastic just below the d on the shifter panel that has a spring on it,just put a thin screwdriver(i.e.-pocket screwdriver) and least 4 inches long, press it straight down and pull it out of park-with your foot on the brake pedal of course)get this fixed asap-drop the panel under the dash, under the steering wheel-on the brake pedal assembly, theres a part where the switch goes, get the part before you start the job and youll recognize it right away, depress the tab and turn it clockwise to remove it,on the new switch, pull the detent switch all the way out before installation, put some type of bar between the seat and the brake pedal with vehicle on and adjust the seat to press the pedal down and keep it down, install the switch and release the pedal slowly to push the detent switch back it,once its all the way down, grab the pedal by hand and slightly pull it towards you,it should click one more time, now its adjusted, put the panel back on and your golden, just saved about $200 bucks in diag. and install labor-good luck bud

SOURCE: i need the mercedes benz 1999 clk 430 radio code

AR82.60-P-7502-01A Coding Radio
(MODEL all with CODE (750) Radio Becker Europa 2000 with CODE (751) Radio Becker Grand Prix 2000 with RDS)

  1. If the radio is disconnected from the power supply, it is not operational when re-connected. After switching on the ignition and the radio, the readout CODE appears in the display.
  2. The code number for the radio is advised to you on the enclosed CODE CARD.
  3. To enter the first digit of the code number, you have to continue pressing station button 1 until the correct digit appears in the display. Adopt the same procedure for the second, third and fourth digits.
  4. Once you have entered the correct code number with the station buttons 1, 2, 3, 4 and confirmed the entry with the SEEK button (press down), the readout CODE disappears. The radio can now be operated.
  5. If you enter a wrong code three times, you must wait 15 minutes before making a new entry. In addition, if 9 incorrect entries are made, the radio will then not operate for 24 hours. During this time the radio and the ignition (terminal 15) must remain switched on.
AR82.60-P-7502-01B Coding Radio
(MODEL all with CODE (353) Audio 30 APS with CODE (510a) Radio MB Exquisit with traffic news decoder, with RDS (Becker) with CODE (512a) Radio MB Special with traffic news decoder, with RDS.)

  1. If the radio is disconnected from the power supply, it cannot be operated by simply reconnecting. After switching on the ignition and the radio the word "CODE" appears in the display on the radio.
  2. The code number for the radio is given on the enclosed CODE CARD.
  3. Enter the code number with the station button, e.g. number 1, station button 1. After entering the first number the word "CODE" disappears and the number entered appears followed by 4 dashes. The next character to be entered flashes. After entering all five numbers, the first character starts flashing again. In this state the code number can be written over as frequently as desired. A correction can be made only by entering the complete code number again.
  4. Confirm code number: Press TUNE, AUTO/SEEK or SC button. The radio automatically switches on and indicates the radio station or frequency stored with station button 1.
  5. If an incorrect code number is entered and confirmed, the word "CODE" appears again on the display. If an incorrect code is entered three times the word "WAIT" appears on the display and the radio locks up for approx. 10 min. If the code is entered incorrectly three times again the radio locks up again for 10 min. Three more incorrect entries (a total of 9 incorrect attempts) increase the lock-up time to 60 min. Another three incorrect entries lock up the radio for another 60 min. The waiting time runs only when the radio is switched on.

I have a 96 f150 4x4 i hve bleed the brakes over and over and the pedal justs goes to the floor when runing

You need to have the ABS hydraulic control block bleed, that takes a special tool only the dealer or a well equipped brake shop has. You can't do this at home the tool cost a bloody fortune.

320 clk -98 what is the selusion when Bas-ESP-ABS is showing on my display? even the autodrive function is not working. Jesse

ABS--BAS

Most likely cause is the 'stop lamp switch'
It is a electric switch located on the brake pedal inside the car, about half way up on the brake pedal.
Pretty cheap too, I think the switch is only like $25 bucks.
2 connectors on the switch and then it turns out.
hope that helps
