Hard to start 97 taurus, new battery, starts when you press on gas pedal, but when you take your foot off the pedal it barely idles, surging continuously and then shuts off. Sounds like it is laborin

check the power in your battery is ok. then check the wiring to your solenoid on top of your starter.

My 2004 Ford Taurus shakes when I start it and then cuts off unless I keep my foot on the gas. When it cuts off the battery, check engine and oil light comes on. It'll start right back up, but again...

change fuel filter first - if does not improve - might have a melted catalytic converter in exhaust

Car stalls at stop signs

will it re-start right back up?
next time try to keep your foot on the gas pedal to see if it stay running ( be careful when you do this, if you give too much gas the car will over come the brake and cause accident )
if it stay running then you need to replace an idle air control valve

My ford Taurus 05 starts but dies when you take your foot off the gas, also when the engine is reved up in the park position it runs rough, then dies when you take your foot off the gas.

check your fuel filter. it may be clogged.

1995 ford taraus dies once ac is turned on. turn off ac and car will start back up

Will it stay running if you keep your foot on the gas? Or is the compressor locked up not allowing the engine to turn?
