Hi. First of all, thanks for the help. Let me start by identifying all parts replaced so far (my dad started buying parts like crazy)
    - Fuel Pump
    - Both coils
    - Cam and crank shaft sensors

So far, I disconnected the plug that connects to the fuel pump and, on the male plug, checked wires green and yellow green for power with a test light. Light came on when the ignition was set to the "on" position, but stayed on indefinitelly (not 3 sec as axpected).
Then, checked both relays and both seem to be "clicking" like they are supposed to.
To be sure about getting a spark, one of the spark plugs was unscrewed, put back in the sucket, and while making contact with the engines block, the engine was turned over. We were able to see a strong spark.

Still tha car won't start. I was told by a friend that it could be that the car's alarm system is malfunctioning. Looked for the car's alarm to disconnect it, but couln't find it.

    Any more suggestions???

    Thanks anticipated;

    Victor

Forgot to ask; even though there seems to be power on the green and yellow green wires at the fuel pump connector, I don't hear any noise nor feel any vibration comming from the fuel pump. Is it supposed to vibrate or make some kind of a noise as it turns on?

SOUND LIKE THE LITTLE MECHANICAL PUMP ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FUEL PUMP IS WORN OUT. THE TOP PART IS THE ELECTRIC MOTOR SIDE OF IT YOU WILL HEAR IT RUNNING. BUT THE BOTTOM MECHANICAL PUMP IS TO WORN TO PUMP.WHICH MEANS NEW PUMP REPLACEMENT.

Well for starters, you need to diagnose the problem before replacing anymore parts. I say this because you mention both the fuel pump and sensors dealing with the ignition system which are 2 separate main things. Basically it takes 2 things to make an engine start, fuel and spark at the spark plugs. You need to narrow down what is missing because it seems since you replaced sensors dealing with spark and then you mention the other need fuel. I'm not sure as to where to start to help until whatever is missing is diagnosed and then find the cause of the loss. There are a couple of things you can check. Below is a picture of the relay box in the engine compartment. With the help of somebody put a finger touching both the fuel pump relay and the EGI main relay. While touching them have somebody turn the key to the "on" position (no need to try and start). When the key is turned on you should feel a "click" inside both of those relays. The fuel pump relay will click for about 3 seconds and the click again to shut off. The EGI main relay should stay on. If both seem to be fine you need to make sure of the fuel pump gettting "juice" and for power to the ignition system like the coils. You can get to the power/juice wire at the fuel pump pretty easy. You can access the connection at the fuel pump by lifting the lower part of the rear seat. Once the seat is lifted you should be able to see a part in the carpet that is cut to be able to lift the carpet up and access the plate covering the access to the fuel pump and/or the top of the fuel tank. Using a test light, check the green and yellow wires at the fuel pump. You should have power at those wire when turn the engine over or if the key is just turned to the on position you should have power there for about 3 seconds. To begin checking for spark or power to the ignition system you need to make sure you are getting power to the ignition coils. The red and white wires at the coils are your power wires. Check those. Also you can check the power at the fuel injectors. When the key is turned on or when trying to start, you should have power to the green wire at each of the fuel injectors. You should have constant power/juice at each of the fuel injectors. This is where I would start to narrow down the loss. Start here with these tests and let me know how the tests come out by replying/commenting here or you can email me directly at [email protected] ith what you have found out. Once the first tests are done and I know what the results are, we can go to the next step with a couple of other tests to figue the problem out. If one of the relays don't "click" then you have a possible bad relay. The EGI main relay is a common thing to go as well as the fuel pump relay. Don't mind helping and there is no cost to you for it but I don't want to tell you to start replacing parts until the problem is located. Hope this helps get you started.

My 03 Serento was not getting juice to fuel pump. The fuel pump connector was cracked. You might look there.

SOURCE: 2002 Kia Sportage will not start.

p0560 is system voltage problem. open or short between the battery positive and the ecm.CHECK ALL FUSES. dosnt matter what they are labeled under dash and under hood replace any that are bad and retry to start. no start then check voltage to ecm grounds to. i dont have a wireing diagram to give you but for a small fee or free the dealer can make you a copy.make sure all the wires that go to battery terminals are not corroded and are making good contact [verified with volt meter]. if after all checks ok then replace ecm. as a side note i havent had to change one ever.

Usually there is a white light on instrument panel lower right side to start 99 Kia sportage. Now light is not coming on, engine turns over but won't start. What to do?

If the white light on the lower right side of the instrument panel that normally comes on when you turn the key to start the engine is not illuminating, there may be an issue with the starting system in your 1999 Kia Sportage. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the battery: Make sure the battery is fully charged and its connections are clean and tight. If the battery is low or has a weak connection, it may not provide enough power to start the engine.
  2. Check the starter: If the battery is good, check the starter. Listen for a clicking sound when you turn the key to start the engine. If you hear a clicking sound, the starter may be faulty and need to be replaced.
  3. Check the ignition switch: If the battery and starter are good, the issue may be with the ignition switch. The ignition switch sends a signal to the starter to start the engine. If the switch is faulty, it may not send the signal, and the engine won't start.
  4. Check the fuel system: If the engine turns over but still won't start, check the fuel system. Make sure there is fuel in the tank and check the fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel injectors for any issues.
  5. Check the spark plugs: If the fuel system is good, check the spark plugs. Remove one spark plug and check its condition. If the spark plug is worn or damaged, it may need to be replaced.
If you're unable to diagnose and fix the issue on your own, it may be best to take your Kia Sportage to a qualified mechanic or dealership for a proper diagnosis and repair.

My 1999 Kia Sportage won't start. I put a new fuel pump in replaced the car battery . Need help please...

Im dealing with a similar situation. But have found that I have no spark. By opening the end of the air intake and giving a little squirt of starter fluid and no start. Opened access to FP and pulled a hose. No fuel. So no fuel no spark. reading lots and lots of forums I have come to the conclusion it is either the Cam or the Crank sensor. The crank sensor is easier to get to and cheaper. I am going to check that first.

2000 Kia Sportage won't start

My guess would be something has happened to the fuel pump in the tank. I would make sure the pump has voltage when cranking the engine to verify.

1999 kia sportage engine stopped while driving. now turns over but won't start

check the alternator, have a service shop like an auto parts store run a check, they can do it for free in some places. may also be your battery, can get cleaner and metal wire battery contact cleaner and you can also try putting some water into the battery in the area indicating where to put some water.

Won't start but fuel pump and relay are good

the next things i would check would be seeing if you have spark from the ignition system , compression in the cylinders by performing a compression test, and checking the timming belt to make sure it has not failed and come out of time.

1999 kia sportage fuel pump problem

Tell your husband to try running a jumper wire from the fuse panel. Make sure the fuse is only hot when the ignition is on. Run the the jumper wire directly to the pump, down the frame rail, and making sure to secure it. That should resolve any problems with the fuel pump, that is, if he's checked all fuses and breakers going to the pump. I hope this is helpful. Please rate my solution, thanks.
