Check engine light came on

Its a 2004 car check car light came on the garage cant find code so turned the light off went a hundred mile now light back on but the car is running great, but the drivers side window wont open or close either

What do you mean "can't find code"? If the check engine light is on, there is a fault code stored in your onboard computer - that's the way it works. If you are using a generic OBD code reader, that is most likely the reason you cannot find any codes. You need to use a scanner that has the correct software to access your ENTIRE computer network, not just the "continuous memory" or "generic" side of your computer system.

The window problem is a seperate problem and must be diagnosed accordingly.

If your car is running ok with no issues other than the light keeps coming on. it is more than likely an O2 sensor. U can go to any auto zone and they will scan it for free for u. most O2 sensors aren't hard to install.

A multi misfire may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plug or wires, Faulty coil (pack), Faulty oxygen sensor(s), Faulty fuel injector(s), Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages, Faulty camshaft position sensor, Defective computer.

The engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wire, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the the problems were faulty fuel injectors. 

Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

Good luck and hope this information helps, keep me posted, be glad to help you get the truck running 100% again. Not sure if your running a K&N air filter, and if you are there may be a flim of oil on the MAF sensor that is making you run lean. You may want to spray down the MAF sensor with a can of MAF cleaner.

can you lift the lock knob up at all?? If you can lift it and the door stays locked, the linkage inside the door is broken.. if you can't lift it up, then the linkage is most likely seized... you'll need to remove the door panel to actually see it

why you got the fault codes & fixing the problems

How would clearing a dash light help pass inspection?

Before you got down the street two houses, the light would
be back,the car has a failed system ,thus the light on the
dash after the motor is started.

You cleared all data,now a shop can't even work on it
You removed all vehicle history & codes

Flat bed it to a shop & they will make the repairs you neglected
to do, while trying to get hundred miles before the parameters
on a failed system went out of range & the dash light came back

Need to study OBD 2 Systems on the internet & leave the vehicle
work to the pros

My 2004 jeep liberty stopped running two fridays ago. my mother was driving it, went into her insurance place and left my 13 y/o son in the car with the car running and a/c on. about 8 minutes into that...


I would get the battery checked, even new ones can be bad, I had a Bosch that went bad after 5 months.
Get the codes read, my 2003 Liberty recently had a problem starting also, thought it was the fuel pump or filter, code came back as the Crankshaft position sensor being faulty, could be a sensor giving you trouble, mine would start right away once it got warm.
When it comes to sensors there is not a lot of difference between making the circuit complete and not.

First of all, oil expands when hot, so you cant check oil level when your car has been running. It sounds like your car is leaking oil. Check for leaks under the car. I would tow the car to a mechanic. If you are lucky it will just take an oilchange to get the car running. But you are likely looking at at least new gaskets/bearings and in worst case new priston rings.

codem p 0203 refers to injector 3---circuit malfunction===causes wiring--injector--ECM
chweck for harness connection , bad wire for no 3 injector or corroded pins for no 3 injector in the connection

If the check engine light is still on, take it over to autozone where they can pull code's out of it for free, and get back with us here at FixYa so we can help you with your trouble code, if the light is off and it's now running fine don't take it there because every thing will check out good, the light has to be on to test, if it's running fine wait till light come's back on, if it does.

If you have a "Autozone" in your area, go there and have them run a check on your alternator. It is free to do, and they will run engine error codes for you free of charge.

I'm a Lexus tech,
You need to retreive a code from computer. Did you pump gas with car running. Will trigger Emission code P0440. Make sure gas cap is tight.
